My journey in Amity

I wanted to pursue my career in English after 12th, so I browsed through internet to look out for colleges and found Amity university as on of the topmost colleges which was near my residing place. To get admission in this college we have to pass the English Language Test and the PI as well. We have to apply for the course online through the college website. The admissions start from the month of January. We have to pay application fee as well which is Rs.1100.

I always loved English and thought to make a career in the field which made me choose this subject. The curriculum of the course is very well structured and gives the student adequate knowledge about the subject. The faculty : student ratio is 1:17. The faculty is very experienced and they make our classes interesting even at this time of the pandemic when they have to take online classes. We have our exams on regular basis and the level of exams is average.

I did an internship as a content writer for three months at the Centre for monitoring Indian Economy Private Limited. My work was to write catchy and valid content on the topics given to me. I earned a stipend of about Rs.9000 per month by my work.

From fifth year onwards the students are eligible for campus placement. The campus is visited by many renowned companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Google, Bank of America etc. Though there are not much companies offering jobs but the job roles generally offered are of content writer, editor, proof reader etc. Almost 75% of the students are placed through campus placement. The highest salary package offered by the companies is around Rs.4,00,000 LPA and average is around Rs.300000LPA. I plan to study further after this degree.

The fees of the course is fine and affordable. The institute provides various scholarship to its students. Along with this scholarship university offers the facility of education loan in collaboration with banks such as Canara Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank etc. Several internships also offered to the students.

Campus of the college is very good. We have cafeteria, Wi-Fi, gym, AC classrooms etc. There is a big library that contains all the texts of our course along with journals. Clubs like music club, drama club, sports club, marketing club, theatre club, human resource club etc. are organized and run by students. Several fests are also organized by the college that are full of fun and enthusiasm.

Amity provides well equipped and furnished hostel rooms. There are separate hostels for girls and boys within the campus. Though the hostel fee is a bit high but the services they provide is excellent. There are three beds in every room along with a wardrobe and an attached bathroom. Food of mess is nice in taste and is very hygienic.

I had to face an interview where I was tested on the basis of my communication skills and my way of presentation. I was asked different questions regarding my studies, myself, and the likes. I took several practice classes to prepare myself for the interview.
