Remarks

I got admission through NEET(National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) and I applied through MCI(Medical Council of India) and in the first round I get NMCH(Nalanda medical College and hospital)but in 2nd round, I got CNMC(Calcutta National Medical College). I got admission through the general quota but many of my friends in my college got admission through some quotes but he also has to give NEET test and go through the same procedure as MCI.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Since a child, my dream was to fulfil my dream of parents and make them happy so I see Doctors get respect and people love doctors. In my college faculty & student, the ratio is 60/250 in my ist year but in 2nd year since I am not able to join college due to covid crisis. But they teach us online so maybe 70/250. Professors are highly qualified and teach us well but in this college, since the Bengal language is Bengali so make us understand Bengali and they also encourage us to learn Bengali so it will help when we will do an internship in our hospital. Examination: in colleges of Bengal timing of exams is almost fixed and since they teach quite well with all clear concepts so almost all students get a pass.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Since our college has its own medical hospital and it provides all facilities. So during the internship, we have to do duty in all departments from emergency to surgery to gynaecology to ENT but the internship is very hard we don't get enough time to eat due to the scarcity of doctors.

Placement Experience

4

Since we are in government medical college. students start to get their stipend from internships. And after that, they apply for house staff. After completion of the undergraduate degree, we have to get postgraduate degrees. We start preparing for PG neet, but since the government applies a new curriculum like NEXT, we start preparation from ist year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Compare to all over India fee structure is low in that almost 9000 fees/year but we have bought books. There are 4 hostels in our college 2 for girls and 2 for boys and the hostel charge is RS 12/month. Scholarship & Stipend: In Bengal students get a lot of scholarships but this is only for Bengali students but for All India Quota students we only get minority scholarships. Govt provide a stipend for inter student since I am unaware of this but I know one thing it higher than lots of colleges after colleges of Mumbai.

Campus Life

3.5

Books availability: In my college 2 library is there with Ac, wifi. And the library is full of books which are required for medical students and doctors. There 5 lecture room and 2 common room in college but grounds are not that big for playing but College organizes lots of extracurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

4

College is provided with 4 hostels with well cleaned and maintain.2 hostels for girls of which one is present in college and the other is in hostel .but these two hostels are well guarded. and 2 boys hostels are present outside the college. one is in LINTON BOYS HOSTEL. and the other is the main hostel for boys. In each hostel 2 or 3 floors are present and on each floor 30 rooms are present and 2 or 3 students stay of the different batch in each room. These are real things that will help us in the study.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.
