My College Life Experience

I have applied to many colleges but since I have completed my 12th standard studies from the Kerela board I cannot get admission to Gujarat Technical Universities. So I only had one option that was this college and I was selected by the college. The minimum percentage required was 80% and 17 years old. The admission process was done online. You have to register and enter your details on the Gujarat University website and according to the criteria you will be selected. And after few days I got a call from the college that I have been selected for this course and then I paid the fees and started my college journey.

I choose this course because I loved technology and computers. I am always curious about tech. And tech is a kind of a field that will always keep growing. The faculty for each subject was 2. And in one section or division students were 80-84. The faculties were highly experienced and they were highly qualified. Each faculty had their own way of teaching some used to have tasks while teaching whereas some used comedy in between the lectures. So in short it was fun. In one year you have 4 exams which were like 2 exams per semester. And in one year you have 2 semesters. So one exam was mid sem exam which is done by the college and the other exam which is the semester exam was done by the Gujarat University. This is for one semester. The next sem is in a similar model. The midsem exams were kind of tough to pass but the finals exams are kind of easy as compared to midsem.

The fees of the college per semester were 9000rs. And for a bachelor's degree, you have 6 semesters. Rest you can do the math. There were some scholarships that were direct from the central government and others for the lower cast students. The government scholarship was pradhan mantri scholarship for students. And the other one was for sc/st people. I didn't get any job on campus this is my experience.

Every year there is a tech mantra event conducted by our college. Here they bring all experts from different domains and they provide information regarding new things and opportunities in that particular field. In the library, there are many books related to tech and computers. You can go and borrow those books or read them at the library. In the classroom there was no ac apart from that it was ok. It had a projector with lights and fans. Our college didn't have any sports activities. Our college used to go to competitions with other colleges. There is nothing like social groups or clubs. Only there is a magazine which is run by faculties and students combine which began recently. Before that there was nothing like this.
