Entrance Preview
VIT has a separate entrance exam called VITEEE. So this was the exam I took. I got an AIR of 10152 not great, but good enough for a merit seat in some engineering branch. Luckily for me, at that time in 2012, the IT branch had just begun, so it didn't find much familiarity, unlike CSE.
Internships Opportunities
To my knowledge, I am not aware of any internship opportunities in my college. But during placement season, we get companies providing internships.
Placement Experience
Placements are awesome in general, comparing to other colleges. VIT is at par with the top NITs. Especially for CSE and IT, you are assured to be placed in these branches. The package varies from company to company. During my time condensation offered a package of 22 LPA, PayPal 20 Lpa, Cisco 16 LPA, etc.
College Events
There two prime events in VIT. Our tech fest - Gravitas, and our cultural fest - Riviera. Gravitas has a lot of learning incorporated. We have various workshops for different fields of interest, dancing photography, etc. included. And there are many competitions where students from other colleges come to participate. Also, there are many fun events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Well, under the private colleges tag, VIT has a comparatively decent fee structure. It cost me approximately 8 lakhs for my 4 years of college including food and stay, which is relatively much less compared to other prime private colleges like Bits or thapar. But recently they have increased the fees.
Exam Structure
Yes, there are exams quite frequently in VIT at least once a month. But I won't say that makes it hectic. It only makes you prepared and helps you score better in the term ends. We have 3 quizzes, 2 cats, and 1 term end for each subject. The quizzes are in the hands of the teachers, sometimes they are replaced with assignments.
