Admission in xaviers college in bachelors of commerce section is not based on any entrance exam. Admission in bachelors of commerce section is based on the marks scored in the 12th boards examination. I got 92% in my ISC boards exam. I chose this college because it the best college in the city as well it is one the best and reputed institute in India.

Every subject or department has formed its own Board of Studies as per UGC guidelines. Each Board of Studies is entrusted with the task of formulating / revising the syllabus and initiating innovative teaching learning methodologies.

St. Xavier's College is one of the first colleges to start a Placement Cell and has facilitated placements for many students. Companies such as Tata Consultancy Services, Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst & young, Google, Zomato, United bank of Switzerland, Verity Solutions, Axis Bank, Citi Bank, Reckitt Benckiser, MuSigma.

Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure is different for different departments. The fees is also different for different country citizen. Home students including SAARC Countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan) will pay the usual fees. Students from Asian countries other than SAARC, will have pay 2 times of the usual fees.
Exam Structure
There are 6 semesters over a period of 3 years with 6 months each. Semester exams take place in April-May and Nov -Dec.Each subject is of 50 marks each out which 40 is of semester which is cut down from a 50 marks paper.
Admission
For taking admission in bachelors of commerce section of this college. Firstly a form is need to filled up with all the personal information and the marks which is scored in the 12th boards exams. From the marks the stundent selected are shortlisted. Then the shortlisted students have interviews.
Faculty
St Xaviers's college kolkata has total of 272 teaching out of which most teachers are full time 21 are part time and 48 are guest teachers. 84 teachers are Ph.D are qualified and 27 are M.Phil qualified . Each subject has its own Head of Department which controls the examination and syllabus.
