Bsc honours Mathematics in Midnapore college (Autonomous)

The college admission process is held online through the college website portal.This is an autonomous college so it has its own syllabus and the exam schedule is also prepared by the college management.The admission is mainly done on the basis of marks got by students in board exam.The college allows fresh studenys or only one year drop candidates for admission.If anyone have dropped for more than one year he or she can't be able to take admission in this college.I have applied for St Xavier's college also but my board exam marks are not enough to take admission there and Midnapore college was my second choice and I got it.

I had got good marks in mathematics so I decided to do mathematics honours in an autonomous college because in autonomous colleges students are not required to go anywhere for their final exams,all exams are held in the college campus.Though now a days it doesn't matter because of such a pandemic situation everything is online but in future may be exams will be taken offline.There are enough faculties and part time teachers.All the professors are very helpful and qualified enough.The faculty student ratio is 1:6.Now in this pandemic situation the classes are held online but students can ask their doubts personally to the professors through WhatsApp or they can call them anytime.They are very friendly to us. If anyone attends the classes then the term exams will not trouble him.

There are few job offers come but here most of the students studies for selection in IIT's and many of them get IIT's for post graduation.I also wants to do MSc.This college also provides post graduation and PHD degrees.

The semester fees is 3000-4000 rupees.If anyone has good marks in board exam then he can apply for national scholarship or state scholarship.Now in this pandemic there is no campus placements.But before this pandemic every year some company jobs,bank jobs etc are offered.Here most of the students are like to do higher studies and many students got IIT's and NIT's for doing masters.

The college campus has very good atmosphere for study.There are good facilities and infrastructure available for our course in our department.There is a library full of books and journals,practical room, computer lab etc.There are separate common rooms for boys and girls where they can spend their leisure time by playing games.There are two canteens in the whole college campus.Every department organises it's own functions but every year in February a annual cultural and sports function is arranged by college and every department participates there.There is also workshops for dancing, singing, drawing etc.

Here hostel facilities are very good.In a single room maximum of 3 students are allotted.Also the size of the room is too big and students can live and study comfortably here.For the hostel room the college makes the students list by their previous board exam cutoff.The food provided by hostel is also good enough.
