Amazing life at Ravenshaw University

I have applied for Ravenshaw University as its one of the prestigious universities present in today's time with a great history as well as a list of famous alumni. For the admission part, We have to fill an online form while applying for the university. The eligibility for my stream was 45% given mathematics be a compulsory subject in 12th. Based on the percentage ranking of students was taken out. We had to submit the hard copies of the relevant documents like the mark sheets of 10th & 12th, CLC, TC, etc. We were guided to the admission hall where according to our respective ranks we had to submit our forms and tell the counsellor which department we were opting for. When we get selected we got a mail. Then an orientation session was held for the Freshers where we were introduced to our respective faculties. Overall it was a great experience.

As I was always fascinated with the business world and at the same time I love coding I was always looking for something where I can follow both my dreams. Ravenshaw University happens to provide one of a kind department That fulfils both my desires. Department of Information Technology and Management. There are a total of 272 students with great faculties and guest faculties as well to teach students. The classes have been divided into 3 sections with a strength of 100 each. Most of the faculties hold degrees of M.sc, PhD, with a commendable amount of experience in teaching. There are internal exams of 20 marks for each subject and then the semester exams followed by the practicals. Students can look up internships provided by various platforms or can ask for references through their seniors for internships. There are various platforms providing internships for the students of different fields and there are various students start-ups too where the students can work.

From the 4th semester, students are eligible to sit for the campus. Our university has collaborated with huge giants like TCS, Capgemini, Deloitte, Wipro and others which provides students with a great package. 80% of the students in my department are getting placed with a great salary provided. I have thought of pursuing my further studies in MBA IT or MCA.

The fees of this department are 35,000/- per year which is quite less compared to other colleges. There are various scholarships provided for the students which they can apply for. Various companies have also tied up with the university to provide scholarships for meticulous students.

Time to time there are various activities held in the campus as well as the respective departments to encourage students to do something new. Kanika Library is a renowned Library which is known all over Asia providing thousands of books to read from. Even some department have they their own personal library as well apart from the central library. The central library have a huge space for students to come,sit and study and also provided with good internet connection to help student. My department heads various events such as Hackathon which brings out the inner coder inside you along with various other events which compelled students to do their best and outshine others. A huge football ground as well cricket ground is there also a basketball court both inside court and outside court is there. There is a closed badminton court present on the campus. There are gyms for both girls and boys for workout.

There are several hostels provided for both girls and boys. I stay in Mahanadi Hostel which provides boarding for 600 people. It is a huge hostel with all the necessary facilities provided like your personal cabinet ,bed, table,chair and fan and some extra space for your extra luggage. in each floor water purifier are provided for both normal and chilled water. The bathrooms and floor of each floor are cleaned on a daily basis. Those who are willing to apply for hostel have to mention it in their application form at the time of applying. Based on the ranking one has Achieved they are provided the respective hostels. The meals provided are nutritious and healthy. Everyday the menu is changed giving us varieties to chose from. Living in hostel is quite cheap as compared to living in a rented room because my hostel charge is up to 5000/- per year as the mess outside cost 5000/- per month .
