Insights on IBS Mumbai

The admission criteria were not critical, firstly the written exam is to be passed, let it be NMAT/CAT/IBSAT. Talking on IBSAT, the marks are not revealed, the result just says pass or fail and then GD, PI process was to be passed. Counseling was provided for all 3 - written, GD, and PI rounds in the respected cities.

PGPM is equal to an MBA degree and MNC's do hire students from here. the faculty-student ratio is 1:60. Faculties are well qualified and have a good amount of corporate experience which they inculcate along with the theoretical teaching. The midterm exams are conducted 2 months after the start of the semester and they are moderate to pass.

Companies such as AMUL, TATA Teleservices, DHL, J P Morgan, S D corp, OUTLOOK Magazines, etc offered internships. The stipend was not provided by every company, majorly the real estate internship provided the stipend on an average of 20-30k. From my experience, I did an internship from the office that gave me exposure to corporate culture and generating leads through hands-on experience directly with the customer.

From the 3rd semester, students are eligible for final placements. Around 50 companies visit for placement and most of them offer the placement. The average package last year was 5.5-6 LPA and the highest was 15 LPA. Profiles for sales executives were highest in various sectors such as Banking, FMCG, Real Estate, EdTech, Consulting Firms, etc. 95% of students got placed. The plan after the degree is to get into FMCG or the Banking sector.

The fees are moderately high in terms of online mode of study as there is no access to facilities provided by the college such as a library, seminars, etc. The scholarship is provided on a merit basis amounting to around 3-5k. Financial assistance for a bridge loan is provided to students who are paying on their own.

The annual fest is KONFLUX where great personalities are invited and it is conducted in the month of September. Books and Case study journals are made available through the online library and subject books were delivered to home. Many Clubs and Websites are run by students such as marketing, sales, data-based, entrepreneurship, marketing360.in

Topics of GD were generic and corporate-based. Eg: Fixed time or Flexitime for the work? interview questions were on self, belonging state, extracurricular. For the process, after the written exam is passed, one has to go to Hyderabad for the GD and PI process. I prepared for these rounds with the help of coaching classes.
