Hotel Management entrance examination held annually by National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology. Held every year in January or February. I got selected for this college, it being my second preference, on the basis my scores in the entrance test.

Course curriculum is divided into 3 years. Second year is divided into 2 halves, with 6 months in Industrial Training at any leading 5 Star hotel and 6 months in college. Third year comprises of all subjects in advanced mode and teaches all aspects of running a hotel along with management principles.

College helps you get interviewed by different hotels for the 6 months industrial training program. Stipend offered is approx 3000. Generally Oberoi hotels pay more. College will generally help you give around 2-3 interviews within which you need to get selected and finalise your training hotel.

Job placements begin from February and end by April, that is just before final exams. Leading hotels, retail and catering organisations, QSRs and airlines generally arrive for hiring students from the campus. Starting salary generally ranges from 16000 pm to approx 30000 pm.

Food festivals, Freshers parties. Themed based festivals. Annual alumni party and different in house competitions run throughout the year. All students are required to participate and are assigned specific responsibilities.

Approx 1 lakh rupees per year inclusive of hostel, uniform, library, extra curricular activities, breakfast and dinner in hostel and lunch at college. You'll be required to pay additional amount for your own expenses such as laundry, medicine etc.

No scholarship or loan facility. However, since this college is a government recognised, run and aided institution, availing a student loan is easy with all leading financial institutions offering loans at about 12-14% interest rate pa.

Life on campus is fun. There're different sporting events that are also held during non-exam months in an year. All students are open to participate. Gender ratio is generally 60:40 Male to Female. Hostel provides you clean water, breakfast and dinner. Laundry and cleaning of rooms are required to be taken care of by students themselves. Toilets and bathrooms are generally cleaned once every week by housekeepers. Menu for mess is changed every day.

Alumni network is very strong. One can join the official Facebook page of the college and alumni. College seniors can be approached for jobs post 3rd year by students as the seniors generally work in middle management positions in catering and retail organisations. However one needs to have consistent grades throughout the 3 years of degree course.

College is from 9 AM to 5 PM with about 5 hours in lab, kitchen, restaurant, laundry and training rooms. Weekends are off days. Diwali, Christmas holidays are the annual holidays that are given. Exams are conducted every 3 months.
