Remarks

After completion of my intermediate, I applied for two Universities that is Delhi University and Aligarh Muslim University and I wanted to study the B.com (Hons). As my percentage was 96 so I got a call from DU and I attended the counseling. After that, I found out that The college they provide me doesn't have a hostel facility. As I had already applied for AMU. They conduct entrance exams for admission. I cracked the entrance and got selected in B.Com(Hons) with Hostel. I got selected in the General category. You have to score at least 70 Marks out of 100 in order to get a seat. The minimum age for the graduation course was 17 and the procedure was so simple. Just attend the counseling and once your docs are verified they will provide you the enrollment number.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose Commerce because I always wanted to be an entrepreneur. The course helped me a lot in understanding the business environment and steps to take while establishing any start-up. The faculty there were enough qualified to make the students understand every bit. The faculty were very Cooperative and understanding. There were two exams in a Semester; Sessional exams of 30 marks and Final exam of 70 marks. The level of exams was fair enough and with good hard work it was not that much difficult to pass the exam.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

A Lot of companies offer Internships to students both with stipend and non stipend. Companies like CA Firms, R.K Agrawal, etc, Advertising agencies like Ogilvy, HRC, etc, IT firms like Accenture help students to be industry-ready. There are a lot of projects the internees worked on. And once their period of internship is over, if outcomes are satisfactory they provide them permanent jobs.

Placement Experience

4

The students of the Final year can apply for campus placements. Every year lot of companies visit the university for recruitment like TATA, ITC, Zomato, Wipro, Kotak, Accenture, Ogilvy, etc. Last year highest package was offered to a student of MBA (HRM) by Ogilvy for the post of HR Rs.22lakh per annum. And the average package per year is around 6 LPA. About 40-60% of students are getting placed through campus placements. As I have chosen the commerce and the sole objective behind this is I want to be an entrepreneur and want to start my own startup once I finish Graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure there was not high. They were providing good hostels with almost all amenities at a low price. And overall fee structure was easily affordable for a lower-middle-class family like mine. They were providing different scholarships for different sectors of society like SC scholarship for low-income groups, sultan Jahan scholarship for Students of different states, Ameer Nishaan scholarship for meritorious students.

Campus Life

4

They were conducting a lot of festivals to help students in extracurricular activities like Niche Art, Zia Festa, Gulistan welcome, etc and these fests were held throughout the year. The Library of AMU that is Maulana Azad Library is among the biggest library in Asia and there is almost every kind of book and journal available there. There are grounds for almost all kinds of sports and students take part in every type of sports freely. Social groups like AMUCITIZENS, AMU world, etc are run by students of the University.

Hostel Facilities

5

If you are among the top scorers of the entrance of the course you can get a hostel facility at a very minimal cost. They provide almost every type of amenities in the hostel. They provide a room approx 16X12. And the room is being shared by 2 students. They provide the best quality of food in mess at a very reasonable cost. They provide different kinds of healthy food every day. The registration process for a hostel is very simple you just need to opt-in hostel facility while registering for the course and have to attest the form with Provost of the hall and Chairman of Department. If you don't want to reside in a hostel or can't get a seat there, you have an option to rent a room and the rooms aren't far from the campus. There are a lot of PGs within a 1 km of the radius of the Campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.Com course curriculum in my college is quite relevant and well structured. It covers core commerce subjects like accounting, business studies, and economics, which helped me choose this course. The syllabus mainly focuses on building strong theoretical fundamentals, which is useful for students planning higher studies such as M.Com, MBA, or professional courses like CA. The curriculum prepares students reasonably well for academic purposes, but there is still scope for improvement in terms of real-world exposure. More practical learning, case studies, presentations, and industry interaction would make the course more skill-oriented and career-focused. The college follows the semester system with internal and external examinations conducted regularly. The exams are of moderate difficulty level. Students who attend classes regularly, complete assignments, and study consistently can pass and score good marks.
