MNNIT Allahabad- From a student perspective!

I applied for NIT Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal, Allahabad, Calicut, Rourkela and many. I chose MNNIT Allahabad in 2016 because of the shortest distance from my home city and the reputation and ranking of the college. No quota availed, general male. The admission criteria for civil engineering: Score in JEE Mains and hence counselling on JOSAA, got a seat, paid seat acceptance fee, confirm, admitted. Counselling Day- Hectic, around 800 students came in M. P. Hall, all were given token number, the process was smooth, after admission formalities, hostel was alloted, settled.

I chose Civil Engineering because I got this specialization in my list of choices, always wanted a core branch and got one. The faculty-student ratio is 1:25. The faculties are highly qualified. Almost all of them are PhD from reputed IITs and some referrals from Foreign Universities as well. The teaching method is very good according to me. You will take studies seriously, you will feel and get good grades. Exams were very timely. Two exams- Mid Semester & End Semester, time of both were made available at the starting of the year in the annual calendar, the results came always one or two days early. Nothing difficult to pass, just by attending classes and a little effort from your side, not only will help you pass, you can secure 7.5+ SPI. If devoted to studies, you will for sure get 9+ SPI.

Internship Opportunities Software Intern, SDE, Fresher Intern. Stupey depends like ranging from Rs 4000 to Rs 1.5 lacks per month, depending on branch and role. In the final year, you will be doing projects and some companies do prefer project-oriented students.

Students will get eligible for the Internship portal after the 4th semester, and for the placement Portal after the 6th semester. Companies come in different domains and offer depending on the company. The highest package Offered- 1.2 crores. Profile offered- SDE, Software Engineer, Trainee Engineer, GET, PGET. More than 80% of students get placed. I have joined M.Tech in IIT Kharagpur.

Fees hike in my time was not applicable, I paid Rs. 68,600 (Even Semester) and Rs. 69,051 (Odd Semester)- without any concession, I am telling you for a student whose family income is above (greater than 5 lacks). The study cost will mainly include your stationery expenses, books and some library issues, xerox. The scholarship I got in my college- Merit Scholarship (For being in Top 5 students in my branch)- It's Rs. 20,000 per year.

Annual Tech Fest- "AVISHKAR", usually conducted in Sept-Oct of every year. Cultural Fest- "CULRAV", conducted in March-April, every year. The central library is well equipped with various books, journals, and issues when required by you. A B.Tech undergraduate can issue 2 books(max) at a time. The classroom is green board, for writing with chalks as well well equipped with projectors for study using laptop and projector. Sports is very well distributed in the college, Athletic Ground, Gymkhana Ground, Skating, Tennis, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Badminton, Basketball, and what you ask for. Social Groups: will include dramatics club, social clubs, entrepreneurship club, managing societies, hostel president and many more.

Facilities in the room- Cupboard, Bed (Without Mattress), Table, Chair, Fan, Lan port, Charging Port. Extra everything you have to buy on your man. The meal quality is good, in starting you will not enjoy but you will get accustomed and will start enjoying the food. The menu is set by the Mess Manager and is different every day, every night will be a sweet dish. There will be only a Vegetarian menu. The registration process for hostel: After admission, the room was alloted in SVBH, and every year your hostel gets changed, allotment will be online with your roommate (you have to send a request, your to-be roommate will accept) and will get your room number after the results will be published. Affordability is good, only Rs. 30,000/- per year. Also, you get a mess refund after every year.
