Remarks
I had applied for other colleges but took admission in IBS Mumbai due to the good average placement package offered by the companies. One can apply to IBS with their CAT score or else can give IBS internal exam known as IBSAT. IBSAT is a 2 hours aptitude test conducted by IBS. The students have to then appear for the GDPI round. on the basis of their CAT/IBSAT score, GDPI score and 10th-12th marks, the students are shortlisted. Since there are 9 campuses of IBS across India, students are matched according to their preference, if they are shortlisted.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty at IBS Mumbai is really very good and helpful. they all are well qualified and have good experience in the teaching industry. Most of them have good experience incorporates as well. All of them have done at least a Ph.D. We have a good number of visiting faculty as well. The exams here happen every month like CEC, Mid-term, and Final-Term to ensure that each student is well aware of the concepts. IBS focuses more on class participation rather than an only a written exam. The final term consist of only 40% and the rest includes mid-term and other CECs.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like JPMC, Aditya Birla, Future Generali come to IBS every year for hiring interns. Aditya Birla and Future Generali hire most of the students in the insurance sector. Students must focus more on learnings rather than stipends in the internship period. Every student has to compulsorily go through a Viva after completion of internship based on which marks are provided to the students.
Placement Experience
IBS is well known for its placements. IBS has good relations with corporate people and a good alumni network that always helps the students of IBS to get placed. The placement season starts somewhere around September of every year. The average package which the students get here is 5-6 lacks p.a. IBS tries to place all the students. Around 80-90% of students get placed every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee of IBS Mumbai is around 8 lacks including books. Every year the fee used to be the same. IBS provides scholarships to its students based on their CGPA every semester. If the CGPA lies between 9-10, then the scholarship amount would be around Rs. 4000. similarly, if the CGPA lies between 8-9 then the scholarship amount would be around Rs. 2400. IBS does provide financial assistance for a loan. Most of the students easily get internships through college but they are mostly unpaid.
Campus Life
IBS conducts Konflux every year in January where all the clubs conduct different events with full energy. Due to the nationwide lockdown, I have 0 experience of campus life at IBS Mumbai. But IBS has many clubs which the students can join for which the students have to go through a hiring process conducted by their seniors.
Interview Experience
Everyone who wants to take part in IBS has to compulsorily go through a GDPI round. The topics in GD round would be general. Even the interview questions would be general as they basically test your communication skills. Questions related to domain subjects would be less. One can easily crack it by being confident throughout the process.
