Remarks

The 1st college I got during my govt. degree counseling was Maharshi degree college. That college had a long distance from my home, so I switch to a private college with an interdisciplinary modern subject i.e. Biotechnology. I availed my ST quota during the admission process. The minimum percentage of the mark was 40% in intermediates and the minimum age was approx. above 14 years. During the counseling day, the faculty members were promptly doing their best. At the time of admission, I submitted DD of 5000/- towards uniform, prospectus, brochure, etc., after that the college administration took 33000/- for every year. Students were paying the fees in installments or one-time payments.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

This course was advance and the future perspective was bright enough. In our batch, 90 students were enrolled and the number of faculties was 15 in our all B.Sc. career. Those faculties are highly qualified like PhDs, dual masters degrees, ex-employee of reputed biotech based companies, teachers from abroad returnees. There was only one annual exam in every year and the cumulative mark of all 3 years was our final graduation score.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

There are no internship facilities during our graduation period because the companies, farms, or hospitals are related to our Hons. the subject was giving preference to master's students for internships with or without stipends. We hadn't done our graduation projects because of the above reasons and also the project had no place in our syllabus.

Placement Experience

4.5

After the 4th semester, all students except backlogs were eligible for on/off-campus placement drive. The backlog students after clearing their backlog exams were eligible for the same in the stipulated time period. IT companies like Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini, Delloate, Infosys, TCS, and biotech companies like Omics, Biocon, etc. are doing on/off-campus with interesting and reasonable salary packages including training periods in some metro cities of India. From our batch 30% of students were getting placed in the above companies, now they are completing their training period and get promoted in higher posts. I had my interest in the research domain of biotechnology, so I opted master's degree in the same course. Now I'm currently working as a Ph.D. scholar at Khallikote University in the plant biotechnology domain.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of the study was quite good in comparison to other private colleges having the same course. I hadn't opted for any scholarship or any financial assistance. At the final year on-campus placement drive, I was selected in Wipro technologies.

Campus Life

3

One annual fest was organized by the college authority i.e. Basant Utsav in the month of February. National level conferences were held once a year in the winter sessions. In Library, important conceptual books were available, which was a little bit costly for students to buy. In winter sessions, there were sports and various competitions for students as well as teachers.

Other Applied Colleges

Longer distance from home.
