VSM's SRKIT is good for students

The admission process in VSMIT (now VSM's SRKIT) is fair enough. My admission was done on my CET score basis. VSM's SRKIT is under VTU University. The fees for 1st, 2nd years was 17,800/-, which was later in the year 3rd and 4th was increased to 20,000/-. The hostel provided all the facilities like mess food, individual beds, individual study table with study lamps, individual cupboards. I thought of applying for Maratha College, Belgavi, but due to long-distance, I opted for VSM's SRKIT. The students getting rank in Quota have separate arrangements on basis of fees. There is no minimum age required to get admission here, but you must pass the criteria of being qualified in PUC 2nd year with whatever percentage and also must have qualified the CET Exam or any other you choose for. The counseling was done on the basis of qualifications acquired. But one great thing about VSM's SRKIT is, it provides 1 week+ training on VAP skills+ Soft skills arranged with highly skilled professors.

The course curriculum is fair enough that included all the required subjects for each course. Like in the 1st year, Coding was made compulsory for all courses. The course included all the syllabus-wise programs taught by individual professors. Each subject has 1-2 faculties to teach. Altogether, there were 30 faculties in the CSE branch. The faculties were well qualified, but the disadvantage is that some faculties don't have proper knowledge and experience regarding their subjects. This makes it the students difficult in understanding some topics. But expect those few faculty members, some faculty members really have good knowledge in depth with 5-10 years of experience. This helps in improving the skills of all the students in doubt solving. The exams were set by VTU examination centers. the question paper copy arrives 30 minutes before the examination starts, and the copies were taken by the college department. Marks were allotted by digital checking by VTU and qualify as obtained.

Placements are organized by the placement cell of the college for every final year student. ABC Institute, Bangalore, is the company that provides free courses on getting selected in the top 3. I was a proud student of my college to be selected in these top 3 amongst around 200 students. No big MNC's arrive at VSM's SRKIT. No placements were done by TATA, Accenture till now. The package starts from 3000/-pm for a start-up company and may vary till 15000/- pm. 10% of students get placed. Attendance is compulsory for placements cell. I got graduated in 2019 (2015-19), and now I am a job holder in a good company in Bangalore.

Fees for everyone branch student is 20,000 excluding exam fees and hostel fees. Scholarships are provided every annual year. For Muslims, Jain, SC/ ST, Minority, and some others. from 6000/- to 50,000/- scholarships will be provided annually. A scholarship form must be filled and get attested by the officers mentioned. The college is having one disadvantage, it does not sponsor any non-syllabus programs like fun-fair, etc. But the fun week is organized by the college annually.

The college overall life is very good. The college environment is friendly. College celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi every year. Holi is also played here. There is no club in my college, VSM's SRKIT. Infrastructure is well established including the bus facilities to the students from long distant places.
