Remarks
The admission program in this college is an ordinary process as other polytechnic colleges. Nothing was too different about it. I passed an entrance exam to get admission in this college. My rank was 900. I always wanted to be a civil engineer. So I opt for civil engineering and fortunately I got the seat. Now I didn't get the admission in my first counseling and the second one. The college was allotted to me in the third and last counseling. The first two counselings were online but the third counseling was a spot counseling so I have to go to the college physically to attend this counseling and I did the same. When I was allotted the college after a week I started my college journey. First thing I did was to fill the admission form, attaching documents and photographs of mine. Then I submitted them in the office. So that's the full process of admission. Nowadays the process is maybe gone totally online due to the pandemic situation but the core process must be the same.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course in the first place because I always had a great interest in architecture and design. And joining this course in civil engineering was the first step in my journey. This was a three-year course and for the first year, all the branches students studied the same subjects including a workshop instead of their core subjects. It was only after the first year that we started to learn about civil engineering. The faculty for the first year of our course was very large and diverse. But when we get to the second year of our college we had just one teacher in the name of faculty. Who worked very hard to provide us the knowledge we require to become good civil engineers. We had field projects, site viewing, surveys, etc. The teacher we had for our classes was a very qualified and knowledgeable person. She had really good patients with doubtful students. It was a semester system program so we had our exams twice a year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is really simple without any hidden charges. You have to pay 6000rs fees + 1000 exam fee. There are many scholarships in the college which provides the needy students the whole fees back. i personnaly opted out from the scholarship program because I could afford the fees. Besides all the scholarships there is also a system of T.F.W seats. In which a part of the fees which is tution fees gets paid by the govt. so that the fees gets really low. in the last year of my course there were multiple companies arrived at the college for the on campus recruitment. there were some good companies there including TATA and Ultratech. Due to my pesonal issues i opted out from these interview.
Campus Life
Life on the campus was very memorable for me and all the students. The college is situated in the very beautiful city of Nainital. There are so many cultural and extracurricular activities organized by the department. We had borrowed lots of books provided by the college library. in the days of summer, there is a championship held in the ground near the college where college's students and teachers take part in different games like 100m sprit, long jump, high jump, etc. It is always great to chear for your houses and most of all play for them. In the spring there is celebrated an annual function of the college. the classrooms here are very airy and good. There are some clubs in the college in which all the students are divided.
