Remarks
I've applied for Civil and Chemical Engineering in Svnit and integrated MSc .Out of which I got Chemical Engineering in 3rd round of JOSAA and I selected it. I'm from ST category and the cutoff for that was 18 marks I guess and I got 49. The admission process was quite easy. The mentors there guided well.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to get into NIt for engineering and that's the only reason I chose Chemical Engineering. I wanted Civil though but the faculty in my department is great. All faculty members are qualified well and they all are well deserved. Examinations were conducted properly as per scheduled time period.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Accenture, Cairn, Edvizo and Srf visited for internships with a decent stipend. Internship test procedure started with an aptitude test after that technical test and then HR interview and technical interview.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible from 7th semester for their campus placements. Companies like ZS, Accenture, Infosys and many more great companies visits the campus. Almost 75% of students gets placed. I am preparing for State psc and other government jobs.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am from ST category. So my tuition fee per semester is 3000 and hostel fee is about 35000 including mess fee. I get half of my hostel fee back through scholarship of digital Gujarat but National scholarship portal is better so if you're in first year of college then apply in it.
Campus Life
Firstly there is freshers party for freshers .It is a two day fest which includes dancing night and singing night. Then there is 'shamiyana'. There's a bonefire and people of all clubs like Malang (dance club), Raag (music club), Kirdaar (drama club), Akriti (art club) and many more perform live. After that, the annual fest includes technical fest and cultural fest both. You will find any foreign author's book in library. Sports tournaments of Cricket, Badminton, Football etc takes place.
Hostel Facilities
Girls hostel has individual rooms, you don't have to share your room with anyone. Mess food in girls hostel is better than any other hostels. I don't know about other categories but for ST category students it is affordable.
