My remarks for my College will always be good as it has helped to build a good foundation to my career.
Entrance Preview
The entrance exam was the MCA Entrance Exam. I has scored 92 percentile and was allocated SIES College based on the percentile received.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course was of 6 semesters 3 years with the last semester being an Internship or a Project. The technical subjects where divided into semesters and the exams were conducted by the Mumbai University. There was also an additional Language that we had to learn. It was German for us.
Internships Opportunities
The internship was for 6 months at V2 Solutions,Vashi. I had a good exposure in hands on working in a company. The stipend offered was Rs.5000. However you can get companies with good packages.
Placement Experience
SIES has many companies coming up for Campus Recruitments and has a good reputation amongst the Corporate Companies. We had atleast 15-20 companies in the year 2012.
College Events
There are many cultural events in our college. The college campus is shared by a junior College an Engineering College,a B-School and a Post Graduation College. The technical fest by MCA department was Pixels. Every department in the college have their own fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of the college is bit on the higher side. The fee for us was Rs 90000 per year. But the infrastructure provided and the facilities compensated for the same.
Fees and Financial Aid
The College has a scholarship program for those people who are academically smart and also in extra curricular activities. The scholar amounts to Rs.30,000/-
Campus Life
The campus life was very good and we get to learn many things with people around us. The campus had almost even ratio of boys and girls. There were many occasions where we were able to showcase our talents.
Hostel Facilities
The college did not have any hostels of their own. But you can get hostels near by or rooms on rent. The rent for a room for 4 people can cost around Rs.8000-10000.
Alumni/Alumna
We have an alumni coming up almost every Saturday for an interaction with the students. This helps the students in understanding the scenario in the Corporate world and also helps the students to prepare themselves with respect to what the market needs are.
Exam Structure
The Exam Structure was a bit relaxing as we did have time to prepare in between exams and the labs were also fully equipped to cope with the students needs.
Faculty
The faculty had thorough knowledge in their subjects and periodic exams ensured that the students were well versed with the curriculum. The practical labs were fully equipped with the required facilities and had facilities to conduct a lecture in the lab
