Remarks
The admission process is managed by JOSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). One has to apply for JOSAA and pay the required fees as security money. Then one has to report to the college and select the option for freeze or slide or float. I was not provided with any quota. For getting Civil Engineering on must get a CRL of less than 18k. On the counseling day, we were supposed to be present at MP Hall and documents were being verified. On the same day, ID Cards were issued.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was always interested in watching construction since my childhood and this was the only reason why I opted for this course. Faculties are highly qualified most of them are from IITs and IISCs. They have developed a good command of their subjects. There are only Mid Semester and End Semester exams. Questions are quite conceptual.
Internships Opportunities
There were many companies for internships like Oracle, Microsoft, Goldmann Sachhs etc. with excellent stipend. I was assigned the Design of Rainwater Harvesting System for MNNIT Allahabad in my final year. The objective was very clear and it was brilliantly guided by our mentor. One can also have a summer internship in the college itself.
Placement Experience
From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placement. There were around 280 companies visited in when I was in my final year and almost 80% student got placed in different companies. Companies like Google, DE Shaw, Microsoft, etc visited our campus. In the core sector, there were many PSUs that visited our campus. The highest package was around 52 Lpa in CSE and the average package was different for different companies like 19 Lpa for CSE etc. Around 80% students got placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees policy of college was very efficient. There were three classes of students on the basis of their income. One below 1 lac per annum, one in between 1-5 lac per annum, and the third one greater than 5 LPA, and their fees were decided on the basis of their family income. So the cost to study was very less and affordable. I was awarded a Merit Scholarship for being in the top 10 in my Second year. I got an excellent offer from Collegedunia with a CTC of 9 LPA.
Campus Life
The cultural fest was Culrav and the technical fest was Avishkar. The technical fest is conducted at the end of September and the cultural fest is conducted in the starting of the match. The central library of MNNIT consists of more than 1 lac books and journals. Along with that students are also provided with E-book facilities. The campus is blessed with a giant football ground and separate ground for cricket and hockey. Badminton and other indoor sports are conducted in MP Hall. Anokhi Pehel is a group that is run by students. In this group, they used to teach poor children from near slum areas. E-Cell, MHM, Pixels etc. are also different clubs for students run by students.
Hostel Facilities
In 1st year, hostel is provided with three studnets in one big room. One room has two partition one for living and other for study. From the second year, we have small rooms with two students sharing one room. A new hostel is constructed and final year students will be provided with separate rooms. Meals were on the average side. The hostel is affordable and the registration process is quite easy and online. Hostels are allotted on the basis of the pointer (CPI).
