From an Alumni of MNNIT

Need to clear jee mains and then counselling is done through JoSAA and then we have to get our documents verified in the closest NIT . For Mechanical Engineering cutoff marks in Jee Mains was about 194. On the registration day in college after document verification, we are alloted our hostel rooms and then our orientation ceremony is lined up on next day.

I took mechanical engineering as my branch here due to my interest in physics and also this college is famous for mechanical engineering as it is the oldest branch here since 1961. It has a impressive steam engine laboratory although its nin functional now . Also the college is famous for its good placement amongs the top NITs , Actually they are best for CS, IT and ECE branches.Other branches also have ample of opportunities.

Internship opportunities for students of CS, IT and ece are quite good. Almost 70-80% of the batch manages to get an internship. For students of core branches they are less and on an average 20-25% of the batch gets an intership from campus. Companies like microsoft, google, uber, flipkart, reliance industries, aditya birla, bajaj auto, tata power, l&t , etc visit our campus.

In 3rd year, Students can register on the internship portal and companies visit our campus for interships. Students can get PPO's too. In final year students are eligible for campus placements. Campus placements are pretty amazing for cs it ece branches. For core branches also there are ample of opportunities but packages offered and companies visiting the campus are less as compared to that in IT sector. Highest package for year 2021 is 0.5 Crore. Average packages and all the placement data is accurately mentioned in the institute website and can be fully trusted. Companies for profiles including Software development, Data scientist, analyst, manufacturing, automobile, service, sales, finance , content creation and few more visit our campus for Btech students.

Fees is paid for every semester. For now the fee is around 75000 per semester. Its the maximum fee without any scholarship. There are scholarships for economically weaker students which reduce the semester fees to about 1/3rd of the maximum fees Also there are merit based scholarships. Hostel fees are 15000 per semester.

Colege culture is pretty amazing. All clubs and commitees are managed by students itself. Even the mess menu and mess functioning is decided by the students itself. Sports infrastructure is not upto the standards.Still there is student gymkhana which has a decent gym and is free. The annual cultural fest is CULRAV. The annual technical fest is AVISHKAR. the annual Entrepreneurship summit is RENAISSANCE. annual literary fest and muns are also organised. Seniors are very friendly. NO ragging at all. The College campus has nice infrastructure which is improving even more.

hostels are for now not upto the mark. but with 3 new hostel buildings coming up, it is going to be pretty good. For first year students there are 3 people in a single room later for second to final year 2 people in one room. washrooms are not attached to rooms. Whole wing uses the same washroom. Mess works on No profit. So its quite affordable. Food quality is great but taste may not satisfy you.
