Remarks

Several quotas are available for admission process e.g SC/ST quota, Green card, Polytechnic, disability quota under which students can join with less mark than General Quota. But I was under General Quota. There's no such limit of age. But yes you have to score more than cut-off marks in the entrance for entry in College. And this Cutoff mark varies from Year to Year depending upon the toughness of exam and number of applicants etc. On counseling day they called names and rank of the applicant one by one in ascending order of rank. Thankfully my name was in the list. The counseling date for general quota and other quota was different.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

BSC Agriculture is designated as a professional course in Odisha. So unlike normal BSc, there is lots of scope and opportunity after Bsc. Faculty: Student ratio- It's around a 1:5 ratio for a particular academic year. Faculties are categorized into several departments based on the course of their teaching. Qualification of faculty: They're government employees, obviously they are well qualified. Some of them had done degrees and Phd from foreign universities. Every teacher had their unique teaching style but easy to interpret and understand. Semester system of exams was there. In every 3 months midterm exam were conducted. And in every 6 months, Semester exams were conducted. One should score 50% marks in every subject to pass the semester.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

During 7th semester the college offers RAWE (Rural Agriculture Work Experience) for practical experience and interconnection with farmers of local level and collect as much as data from them. For RAWE internship students were a stipend with a total of 13000. Another one is internship or industry attachment program through different industries.

Placement Experience

4

Agriculture is a 4-year course i.e having 8 semester. So you will be eligible for campus placement after 7th semester. About 65-70% students got placements in various private and semigoverment companies like PPL, Dhanuka, Nagarjuna, Pesticides India, IIFCO,etc. Annual package varies from 3-20 LPA with an average 8 LPA depending upon the companies. Other 30-35% students opt for AAO,AHO and various other competitive exams.I am preparing for Agricultural MBA exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

Though it's professional courses you have to pay a little more than normal Bsc but not much. There were 2 types of students i.e. students falling under the general fee structure and students falling under the cost-sharing fee structure. Students under the cost-sharing fees structure would have to pay more than the general fees structure. Under the general fees structure, fees were around 28k and under cost-sharing it was around 70-80k per Year in total. Talking about the scholarship programme, various scholarships like Prerana, Medhabruti, etc were there. Though I fall under the General quota with an annual income of more than 6 Lakhs so i wasn't eligible for the same.

Campus Life

4

Annual fest is conducted around last week of June to 2nd week of July every Year. It's a 2 floor building placed in a corner of campus so that it's free from tittle-tattle. You will get almost all books of respective course along with books of other sectors like Financial Book, Classical and Modern History, Geographical books, Geology books, etc. The library is well-ventilated and in a good lighting conditions. College organizes competition among the students in several field like Sports ( both indoor and outdoor), drawing, debate, quiz, rangoli, dance, acting, etc each year. So if you have any extracurricular activities you can take well advantage of this and win rewards. Rather than this other State level and National levels events are also organized.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Each room was provided with 3 beds, 3 table,s and 3 chairs. So in maximum 3 students can live in a single room. Separate hostel for boys and girls. And yes hostels are under 24hrs of CCTV surveillance and WiFi. Yes, Menu is decided by students themselves because the mess is controlled by students. Students had the power to change the menu anytime and they can change cook also. The quality of food is good. I can't say it best, but it's adjustable. If you are unsatisfied with the quality of food you can opt for Zomato, Swiggy, etc. easily as the college itself stands in a well-developed City area. As I said before, the college is located in an urban area, you can easily rent a room if you are unsatisfied with the hostel environment. The registration process is simple. You have to register after each semester. Registration fees is around 3-4k per year (excluding meal fees).

Course Curriculum Overview:

As India is a agricultural country most people depends on agriculture so I choose this course that I think it might have more scope. Through this course, we covered both theory and practice; we planted crops, prepared the field, applied manure to the soil, and irrigated the field. The difficulty is not too hard, and there are about 4 exams in a year, which is very good. In this course we must visit the village and interact with village people know their problems and try to find solutions. In our college we are less interactive with village farmers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Agriculture course is highly vast and informative. This course actually provides economic knowledge about the food we consume in our daily life and also provides the information about how they are grown and taken care of by our hardworking farmers. And talking about the difficulty level it's actually easy and we just have to get involved in this course as much as we can. Improvement this course requires is to give proper guidance to our farmers and also to provide them with proper wages they deserve.
