Remarks

I did not apply for any other colleges although I had researched about some. I took admission at CMRIT as suggested by one of my friends who was studying there. The feedback was interesting and also I could also verify some of the things on the college website. There were two types of admissions for MCA; it was 3 years Management quota admission for students outside Karnataka and 2 years of lateral entry for Karnataka students, until 2020. But now it's a two years course open to Karnataka and Non-Karnataka students. The cut-off criteria to get admission is 60% and min age is 18. The admission assistance is provided throughout by the department faculty as well as the administration. Counseling is also provided for students to opt for the right stream.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I have been studying computer applications since my PUC (12th grade). I am passionate about learning and exploring my skills in the field of technology. And, also as everything is going to be based on Information Technology down the line. Since I am a graduate in BCA and wanted to pursue my higher education in the same field, I have chosen MCA. The student-faculty ratio at CMRIT is 1:15 and the faculty are highly skilled and professional who help students in all possible ways and adapt to creative and engaging methods of teaching. Learning and exploring one's choice is made easier. The lectures and curiculum are well-paced so that students have a good understanding and enough time for the preparation of the subjects. It is not difficult to pass the exams if one takes advantage of classroom learning. Moderate notes and handouts and references are also provided for the preparation.

Internships Opportunities

4

The departments help the students to find internships and also assistance is given in the selection process. MCA department assigns mini-projects and MOOC courses every semester so that the students can put their skills into practice and also be creative. Then, based on projects mostly the students are provided internship opportunities, and various activities like partcipation in hackathon help to build the resume.

Placement Experience

5

CMRIT is popular due to its campus placements. The college prepares the students thoroughly for placements right from the 1st year . The 'TYL' department is a cherry on ice cream when it comes to the placements. Also, the Career and Placement cell keeps the students updated of all hiring drives and assists in all possibl ways to get selected and meet criterias. The highest packages are 12LPA to 23.5 LPA which depends on companies. In my opinion 75% of the students are placed every year and the placement assistance is also extendend to the pass out students. The students are eligible for placements in the 3rd year that is in the 5th semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

The program fees are fixed and there are no hikes nor concessions on fees. Scholarships can be availed mostly by only Karnataka students here. I wish the government and the management could open it for all students. The internship programs are shared with potential students and all required assistance is provided too.

Campus Life

4.5

The college hosts numerous events on coding. Also, the Innovation cell hosts many seminars and workshops where the students can engage in potential learning. College hosts an annual fest called Cultura and Mun. There are many TYL hackathon challenges hosted every time. Students can also take part in many club activities, each department has 2-3 clubs including cultural learning. Most clubs like Foreign Languages Club are run by students and also host social learning platforms and interesting activities. CMR IT has good resources and library access to students. Also, we can find a lot of repositories and e-learning material. The college campus is big and spacious including the parking and the in-house canteen, sports area, etc

Placements in our college are average. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 2nd semester. Some companies visit the college and offer jobs in different roles. The average package is around 3-4 LPA and the highest package depends on the company. After completing my degree, I plan to get a good job and gain experience in my field

Placements are good...lot of my friends got placed. But it even depends on individual intrests. At starting you get paid less but later on experience u can earn more. In case if placement doesn't happen you will still have the chance to explore outside.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MCA course curriculum is well structured, relevant, and comprehensive. It covers core computer science subjects such as programming, data structures, databases, software engineering, and practical lab work, which influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a strong foundation for both real-world applications and further academic pursuits. With the support of good and experienced faculty, concepts are explained clearly through theory, practical sessions, assignments, and projects. Exams are conducted on a semester basis with internal assessments and end-semester examinations. The frequency and timing of exams are appropriate, and the difficulty level is moderate. Students who attend classes regularly and follow faculty guidance can perform well.
