Story of a graduate.

On the whole, our college is good in various fields and needs improvement in others. Management of our college is not that easily convinced to support us. They support students rarely.

I wrote JEE mains examination in which my score was 106/360. I dream of being a petroleum engineer and there were very few colleges offering this course, as my score was not that good I didn't get admission into a re known institute but one day I read an advertisement in a local newspaper about Itm university offering petroleum engineering, I went through all the details of the college and finally opted it.

I would say that the course curriculum is very poor according to me, there is no focus on practical learning. With a perspective of a petroleum engineer there are very few opportunities for research, even the basic labs are not there for core petroleum.

No. There are no internships for petroleum students. Internships are provided for many other branches mainly there is a good all over opportunity provided for computer science students and architecture students. Many companies visited our campus like Amazon, wipro, Infosys,etc.

I have no idea of placement and job opportunities as no batch has yet passed till date. This year our seniors will be completing there degree then we will be knowing of the placement and job opportunities and the companies visited with their packages, till then nothing can be said.

Standard of events celebrated in our college is very good. Many national and regional level events are held on a regular basis. Most grand event among all the events is IMPETUS, which is a national level technical festival which includes sports and cultural events as well. There were approximately 80 participants from out of Gwalior (national participants) and nearly 600- 800 regional participants and this event was a huge success. Last time, a huge star from bollywood, Mohammed Irfan visited the campus for a live concert which was also organised by Impetus.

The fee structure is expensive for the standard of facilities it provides. The total fees for my batch is ₹1,15,000 /- per year. In which ₹70,200/- is the tuition fees per year. The rest amount includes other fees like program fee, library fee, etc.

Yes. Good amount of scholarships are provided to deserving students. At the time of joining the scholarship is given on the basis of 12th standard aggregate. Top three students were awarded with scholarships which covered the fees of 100%, 75% and 50% respectively for 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranked students in class. I bagged this scholarship as I was the 2nd highest scorer.

Campus life in my college is average. Some parts of campus are always happening but the remaining parts are not so. The gender ratio of boys : girls is nearly 2 : 1. Extracurricular activities are a major part in our curriculum. Many national and international level conferences and workshops are held. Our college provides a great platform for students to participate at national level in many events such as debates, elocutions, sports, etc. There are many cultural societies but these rarely work. There are students from all over the world in fact students from almost all the states in India can be seen.

Hostel facilities are good. The rooms and washrooms are decent enough for a private college hostel but much more improvement can be done. The facility for sports and other co-curricular activities is good, Security is also good but the main demerit of hostel is its food, the food which mess offers is not that good we get obsessed with the same routine and taste.

I don't have any personal experience with alumni of our college. But the seniors are good, they are always ready to help and supportive. There are many events that I have organised with my seniors, they guided me very well and impetus is one among such events.

Exam structure is very well planned. I personally like it a lot as there is a balanced time table for exams, labs,etc. So it is not that hectic but it only gets tuff during the time of exams. Labs are not that strict, they are very easy going and never bother any student.

The standard of our faculty is definitely below average. There are only two professors who are from petroleum field namely Mr. Rahul Yadav and Mr. Akshaya mishra. Both of them are m.tech passed in petroleum stream. Rahul sir is definitely below average he doesn't has the ability to explain things properly his concepts are also not clear at times. On the other hand Akshaya sir is quite good.
