Entrance Preview

D.U conducts LL.B entrance test each year in the month of may-june. I scored 444 out of total 750 marks securing 84th Rank in General Category. However if one gets something around 400 he may be assured of his admission to faculty but the cut-off scores of each year keeps on changing.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, there is a Placement Assistance Cell which is active. Otherwise also there is no dearth of internships for the faculty students seeing 7 district courts, High Court and Hon'ble Supreme Court with many tribunals in delhi.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is around Rs. 5000 to 6000 per semester with examination fee. A student can complete his three year LL.B in Rs. 22000. however if you have got hostel facility you will have to pay for that also which is something around Rs. 35000 (approx) for one year including lodging and fooding.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships for part of a tuition fee but there is non for the hostel. Given the low cost of LL.B Degree there is no Scholarship providing for more than what you pay per year. every scholarship is subject to renewal every year.

Campus Life

5

The Gender ratio is almost 60:40 ( male:females). Students come after completing there graduation so there is a senses of maturity in their behaviour. There are fresher parties and fest organised by the student union each year. There are many seminars and there is also news letter society of the college.

Exam Structure

Three year LL.b is divided into six semesters with five papers in each semester. There is no pressure like situation as you get enough time between two papers. At the time of promotion to next semester it is mandatory that you must have cleared all the papers except 4. It means that if you have got back in 5 papers you cannot be promoted.

Admission

The Form for admission to three year LL.B course is out in April and the entrance is held in last week of may or first week of June. The paper is classified into five parts including simple legal awareness, General Knowledge, English, Reasoning, Current Affairs. There are total 175 questions and each question carries 4 marks with 1 marks negative for each wrong answer.

Faculty

4.5

There are many good teachers with some exceptions. some of the renowned teachers like Prof. Ved Kumari, Prof. Poonam Pradhan Saxena, Prof. Kamla shankaran, Prof. Pannikar etc. are an adding advantage to the faculty.

Being very passionate about law it brought me closer towards the subjects i thought I'd never like. It's vast curriculum has made me like a lot of subjects and has also given me a real life applications and further academic achievement however I feel like the curriculum should focus on law subjects from the very beginning and teaching could be improved by further interactive session between students and faculty.

The curriculum is good for the real world applications as the course teaches us about the practical work. They can improve their course by adding more moot court practices during the semester and by giving the students the opportunity to practically utilise the bookish knowledge they are gaining.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very much practical knowledge based and helps the students to grow there legal reasoning which helps them to prosper in the profession. Also it helps them to read and correlate the real time judgements being passed, this curriculum prepares the students to understand the reasoning behind the judgements. Though the curriculum is practical knowledge based it still requires many improvements as these case are old and some of them are even overruled, also the we have to write very long answers which needs to be changed as new methods like ooen text book exams can be adopted to improving.

After 2 years of integrated courses, you can become eligible for a job. In law, there is no company, but if you have good communication skills, you will be placed in one of the high courts or supreme courts under a senior lawyer. I don't know much about packages. My plan was to go to Oxford University for further studies.
