Life at MANIT Bhopal

The student has to take the JEE Main exam and score a good percentile above 97 to get into this college if he is from general category. After that there is a counselling process conducted by JOSAA in which he has to fill in the preference order of all the colleges and the respective branches he is willing to get admitted to. There are total 7 rounds of counselling in which you get colleges according to your preferences and the rank which you got in the exam. I myself filled MNNIT Allahabad, MNIT Jaipur, MANIT Bhopal for the admission and finally after all the rounds of counselling got Mechanical engineering in MANIT Bhopal. After the JOSAA counselling, there is one more counselling also known as the spot round conducted by CSAB where the remaining seats of all the NITs, GFTIs are filled which left vacant in the JOSAA counselling. This second round has more possibility of your admission even in relatively low score.

The curriculum is up to date with all the latest euipments and the guides required in the modern world. The faculty members are highly educated and skilled who are graduated from the reputational institutuions of the country like IITs, NITs and some also from the foreign universities. The age group of teachers range from 35 years to 60 years as well . This enables the students to understand all the concepts with a little bit of ortrhodox touch. We get to know about the new technologies as well as the past usage and revolutions in the technical sector. All the teachers are extremely friendly understanding the difficulties of the students and resolving them with proper methodologies i.e. both in theoritical and practical way. The exams are always conducted on time as per the academic calender which we get at the starting of the respective semester. The result is evaluated within 20 days of the final exam which makes it easy for the students to study for extra courses.

The internship opportunities are mainly available for the students who are willing to get into the software field. Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Goldmann Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, American Express, Bajaj, Samsung etc visit or campus every year for internships with the average stipend of 50000 per month. Students usually recieve a two months internship which gets conerted into PPO by the companies is they gets satisfied with the work of the students in the duration of the internship.

The placement scenario is very good in our college. Our college holds the position in the top 10 NITs in our country in placement-wise. The average package of our college is 10 lakhs per annum and even big for the CSE students going as high as 15 lakhs per annum. Anyone who is even a little bit seroious for the job gets placed with the packages ranging from 5 to 50 lakhs per annum. 80% of the students gets placed every year . Students start getting internships from the 3rd year of the course and get placed as soon as the final year starts . All the major companies of world like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, DE Shaw, Amazon, Samsung, Bajaj, HPCL , Wells Fargo etc visit our campus every year.

I agree that the fees is on a bit higher side but you get a proper value for it regarding the facilities and the knowledge you receive on campus. There a merit-based scholarship by the college known as MCM scholarship which is given to the top 1% of students. Apart from that, there is no scholarship from the college end but you can apply for various other scholarships available through the state and central governments. I must say that there is no difficulty in getting the loans for your btech fees and placements are also very good so you don't need to worry about the payback of the loan. The average package of the college is 10LPA and even higher for the CSE candidates with 15 LPA.

College life or hostel life is one of the best parts of student life. Here in MANIT you will enjoy and learn each second of your curriculum. There is a lot of masti in the hostel and the campus. A no. of clubs and societies are there in the college which enhance your personality and groom you to be a part of the corporate world after college. A huge library is there for the students to read which is open till 5 pm. There is also a big sports complex where several indoor and outdoor games are available which is open 24x7 you can play at any time. Apart from that 2 fests are organized every year in which one Bollywood personality is invited. The name of the technical fest is TECHNOSEARCH in which various technical events are organized and the name of the cultural fest is MAFFICK in where cultural activities are promoted.

The hostels are well maintained for all the years of btech separately. There are 8 hostels for boys and a big one hostel for girls where the girls of all the years stay together. You get a three-seater room in your first year of btech, two-seaters in the second year of btech, and for the last two years, you get a separate room. All the required facilities are available in the hostel properly. There are cooperative wardens in every hostel who help you with every problem you have. There are 3 beds, 2 tables, and chairs in the room for the first year. Hostel food is just the same as what we come to know from various institutions but not bad. The hostel and the mess are very much affordable and you also get satisfactory facilities for whatever you pay.
