Sourabh Chawda's Review On Bhilai Institute Of Technology - [BITR], Raipur

I gave CGPET entrance exam. It is a state level entrance exam to get admission in engineering college. I scored 2065 rank in the entrance exam. I opted for BITR college because it is among one of the top five colleges of my state. Also I have an elder sister who was already a student there and through campus selection she got placed in TCS. So I was very well aware about everything of BITR.

I opted for Computer Science and Engineering as from the or beginning it was my only field of interest. The Computer Science and Engineering branch in my College is very good. We are given a lot of practical knowledge along with the theory knowledge. Our college have very well occupied computer labs with recent technology.

No, our college do not provide internship. But there are lots of companies which come every year for campus recruitment. The companies which comes for campus recruitment include Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), Persistent, Capgemini, Genpact, Tech Mahindra, Excellon. All these companies took a good bunch of student with them from our college.

Approximately 50-70 students are placed each year from our college in the above mentioned companies. The packages offered are from 3.25 lakhs to 9 lakhs.

Every year our college organise Tech fest event i.e BIT UDAY. BIT UDAY comprises of technical cultural and sports events. All the competition held during BIT UDAY are inter college competitions. The technical events include Robotics, Bridge making, Tower making etc. The sports events include inter college Cricket And kabadi competition.

The fee structure of our college is moderate. The tuition fees each semester is Rs 31,200. The sports fees and exam fee are Rs 150 and Rs 535 respectively. Our college provide bus services too. Each semester Bus expense is Rs 8500. We have book bank facility in our college which cost Rs 500 per year. It provide us all the book required each semester.

Our college provide loan and scholarship facility to the students. The ST/SC student who have scored good marks in 12th board exams are given scholarship each year. along with it the students who score high in exams are provided with scholarship.

The gender ratio in our college is good. There are comparable number of girls as the increase in girls literacy rate. There are lots of extracurricular activities in our colleges. There is a language club in our college which organised many events like debate, mock parliament which are quite successful.

We have different boys and girls hostel in our college. The boys hostel is in the campus itself whereas the girls hostel is in the city. The hostel provide all the necessary requirement to the student. We have mess as well as canteen in our college.

The exam structure of our college is according to the CSVTU University exam pattern i.e every semester. After the theory exam there are practical exams. The exams are in a chilled manner as we have enough time of preparation. The preparation leave given to us are also enough.

I got 2065 rank in CGPET exam. After that there was online counselling. We were required to fill an online application form with the list of colleges we were interested. My topmost priority in selection of colleges was Bhilai Institute of Technology, Raipur. After the online allotment of colleges we had to go through the verification of certificate.

The faculty of our college are oceans of knowledge. All the faculty members are very keen in teaching their subjects. They have enough theory as well as practical knowledge in their field of subjects. Most of the faculty member have long term of experience in teaching field.
