Panimalar engineering college-review

When I joined this college from counseling, there were no pi or gd or entrance examinations. Only cut-off marks calculated by marks from physics, chemistry and mathematics combined from 12th standard examination was taken into account and I got 190 cut off marks and thus it was easy to get this college and student who got 180 too got this college and 180 is the lowest mark for this college for computer science department from counseling when I joined this college. I did not avail any quota but there is a quota available for Christians in this college.

Before joining this college I asked to review from many seniors and people whom I personally know who were studying in this college and I heard that this college is very good for placements and training and its friendly staffs and good teaching. I was not disappointed though. The college was good in all these aspects and now I am in my fourth year and I got placed in two companies and all my classmates are placed. The training and teaching were very appropriate and I would definitely recommend this college to others. There is abundant teacher power to support students and are always helpful for the students.

The companies that came to provide internships were mostly start-ups and not big MNCs really came to offer internships. But the knowledge we get working in the startups is very great and really helped us during placements. The internship provided us with live practical knowledge by involving us in live company projects and thereby giving us the exposure and experience of working in an IT industry. But not many people were selected for these internships and only a very few people got selected in internships and the stipend would be 3000-7000 depending on each company.

Students will be able to attend internship fairs in 2nd and third years. Students will be eligible to attend the campus placements from the first semester of the fourth year respectively. Companies like CTS, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Zoho, LTI, tech Mahindra, kaar technology comes for placements and the package varies from 2LPA to 6.5LPA respectively. Almost 90+ percentage of people who have no arrears get placed in the college placements and the average salary scale would be 3.5 LPA.

The fee for students from counseling would be 1,25,000 and for management students, it will be 1,40,000. The fees will comprise bus fee, mess fee, tuition fee, industrial visit fee, and miscellaneous fees respectively. There will be no additional fees after this. First graduate scholarship and Christian minority scholarship are the only scholarships provided in this college. Intern fairs will be conducted for students in the second year and third year respectively. In fourth-year students get campus job opportunities.

There is only one fest conducted each year entirely by the college named "college day" which is more like a cultural and will be conducted for one day. For hostel students, one more event will be conducted named hostel day. No students are included in planning the event. Only students can perform in these events like dancing, magic, etc. There's also a sports day conducted every year.

Hostel facility is good. 4 members per room with attached bathroom and heater. Rooms are not air-conditioned, but still not stuffy or sweaty because of the location of the college. Food is very good and of good quality for students and hostellers are provided with non-vegetarian foods for 6 days a week. The fee for this will be 50 thousand a year and the students are not allowed to stay in the 4th year of the college.
