I applied to various uptu colleges but when I got AKGEC, I realized it was better than the others and hence I finally decided to opt for this. I have not availed of any quota. Minimum marks were 60% in the board examination. Marks limit was different for different branches.
Course Curriculum Overview
The term exams were of course delayed due to late admission because of coronavirus. We completely attended online classes but exams were conducted offline which was difficult in itself. Had the classes been offline, the exams would have been better. But most of the students were able to pass comfortably.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have availed of no scholarship. It is my first year so no point in getting a job. I have got no financial assistance. All the fees are being paid by myself. There is no external assistance of any kind. Since there is no job yet hence there is no stipend. But I am quite optimistic that at the time of my last years I will be able to get a job placement.
Campus Life
There are a lot of social groups and societies in my college from cultural to technical. I have participated and got recruited in two of them. Each social group has its pages on Instagram and Facebook and other social media handles. Talking about technical societies there are societies of every branch like Cs, IT, ECE, EN, Civil, Mechanical, etc. Every society gives various opportunities to its members like competitions, internships, etc. Cultural societies are also of various kinds like dance, singing, oratory, photography clubs, etc.
Hostel Facilities
There were a lot of facilities provided in the hostel room. We had a separate balcony for drying clothes etc. It was a three-seater with a table chair separate for every person. Separate light arrangements, separate beds. Separate almirahs were also provided to us. The hostel menu included a wide variety of foods. Each day had a different planned meal. There was a chart given to us that detailed the complete menu of the week. The food quality was very good indeed. We did not miss our home much. Hostel applications started soon after college admission. We were given the phone number of the warden. We contacted her personally. Then we were told about the fees. We did the payment. We secured our rooms. I did not rent a pg.
