Vivek Gupta's Review On Samrat Ashok Technological Institute - [S.A.T.I], Vidisha

I took MPPET in 2008 and and scored about 55% of marks. As the college was famous for Civil Engineering and I was also having a keen interest in Civil Engineering. Thus, i opted for SATI.

Course curricula at that time used to be one provided by university. So it was same for the all colleges which were enrolled for the university. Curriculum was designed brilliantly. On one hand it covers, theoretical aspects very well however on other hand practical aspects were also emphasized.

It doesn't provide internship. But, engineering under grads needs to go for summer training two times during the four years of engineering. Training experience at sites was very good because it is entirely different thing to work in the field that to study things theoretically.

Placements at that time was very good. Almost 50 % of my classmates got selected in various construction companies. TCS recruited more than 120 students that year. Generally the package which were offered by various companies were in range varying from 2-5 lacs per annum.

There are lots of Cultural and Technical events used to be there in SATI. Smrat Utsav is the very famous and largest cultural and technical event in MP. It is organised annually in April month. Akshya, Anveshan etc. were the annual function organised by department of Civil Engineering.

At that time it used to be very feasible we used to pay almost 28000 per year. But now I have listened that they have increased the fees to 70000 per year which I think is very costly for middle class and lower middle class families. However, as compared to other private college it is still less.

Campus life of SATI Vidisha is amazing. Since it is a small town whole market of the town is based on college students thus we generally used to get respect from all vendors. Since there are 30% seats reserved for females thus every class at least contains 30 % females. As I have mentioned earlier extracurricular, labs and other facilities are fabulous. There is separate robotics club for robo enthusiasts.

Exam structure is balanced. Theoretical and practical marks are weighs equal. we used to have 3 hours of theoretical classes and 3 hours of practical classes. It used to be hectic but we never felt it hectic because 3 hours of theoretical class it completely bearable and after that practical classes was more fun to attend.

In year 2008, there used to offline counselling at various centres in MP. I attended that counselling and on the basis of my MPPET rank I got this college. After getting the college in counselling, all candidates have to appear in college for registration and fee deposition.

Very well knowledge faculty. There were some permanent faculty as well as some ad HOC faculty. Permanent faculty members such as Punjabi sir, Joshi sir, Chauhan Sir, Hrishikesh jain sir were having great command over their subjects however as HOC faculties generally lacked the conceptual knowledge of subjects.
