Entrance Preview
Back in 2004 the entrance use to take place by through UPSEET entrance examination. It was a joint entrance examination for taking admission in engineering colleges in UP.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure followed by IMS Engineering College is prescribed by UTPU and holds same for the all the engineering colleges in that state. It compromises of 38 papers in the span of 4 years, which is to be completed in eight semesters.
Internships Opportunities
Back in 2004-08 college use to help only in placements there was no help provided for internship. Students have to make their own effort for summer internship.
Placement Experience
Out of a batch of 240 around 120 students got placed for 04-08 batch. In companies like Wipro, Accenture, TCS and Infosys and few more (mostly IT companies, I remember only a few core companies which visiting campus). In short, most of the students having more than 60 % throughout where placed. But here I would like to give more merit to students than the placement cell as we mostly use to attend pool campuses.
College Events
The IMS Engineering College holds both technical as well as cultural festival. It was fun to have break from academic and meet students from various colleges and have a healthy competition with them. The aura of college use to be completely different and it gives one a lot of exposure in terms of event management.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Not sure about the fees being charged today, but back in 04-08 batch it was divided into 42 thousand as tuition fees and 40 as a hostel and mess fee. Though college allows you the flexibility of paying the fee in two equal installments, one for each semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't remember any scholarship provided by the college, but yes, all public sector bank use to provide education loan for the study.
Campus Life
Campus life was fun, having a football ground and basket ball and volley ball and badminton court added to spice in student life to play, compete and stay healthy. Regarding gender ration apart from Bio technology branch which have 1:2 girls to boys ration rest other branches use to have 3:1 boys to girls ratio.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is good and come forward to help you regarding job opportunities, mostly off campus or experience references.
Exam Structure
The examination structure was same through colleges of UPTU. We use to having eight semesters having on average 5 papers in each semester. In each semester one needs to appear for three internal tests out of which top two scoring test for considered.
Admission
Once you appear for the UPSEET entrance examination, depending on your rank you can opt for your college and branch preference in the counselling centre and after a day or two one is informed that in which college and branch they can take admission, if one denies to do so, he / she is eligible for a second round of counselling to apply for the left over seats.
Faculty
The faculty of IMS Engineering college was good. They were having the right attitude towards study and have good knowledge about the subject which they teach. Labs were given importance by the faculty which is one of the most important of Technical education.
