College Review-Shri Shikshayatan College

I had applied to many colleges across the country, got admission in quite a few of them as well, but this seemed like a perfect fit for me. I did not avail any quota for admission to this college. The admission process to this college (Shri shikshayatan college, Kolkata, West Bengal) was pretty easy, not tedious at all. You would have to apply through their website. And then after that, they release quite a lot of lists with names of students whose admission has been accepted.

I chose B.com hons cause the subjects entailed in this course intrigue me, The college offers a variety of undergrad and postgrad courses. The faculty-student ratio, I can't comment on since I haven't been to college yet and met the professor's thanks to this pandemic. They have very qualified and publishes writers even in their faculty. The term exams happen in accordance with Calcutta University.

The college doesn't offer many internship opportunities by itself. It offers you programs such as GLIIF (Global Links Impacts Investment Forum). It looks at strengthening entrepreneurial networks, social entrepreneurship, etc.

Selecting a college is one of the most important aspects of a student's life. Apart from looking at B-school, ranking, fees, and return on investment, placements play a pivotal role. Almost 20% of the student were placed in reputed companies. Many reputed companies like indigo, PCW, etc visited the college. Min package offered was 2LPA. All students from my course got placements.

The fees aren't that expensive especially with all the facilities that are offered. There has been no fee hike instead they offered a reduction in lieu of the pandemic and the economic strain it has caused to families around the country.

They have a lot of clubs you can be a part of for eg- debate club, dance club, NSS, etc. The classrooms are all up to date with new technology and have ACs (thank goodness). They even have a swimming pool.
