College Review

I got placed in Sphoorthy Engineering College through counseling. The counseling process went very smoothly and I have choosen this college because of it's friendly environment. The infrastructure of our college is good. The campus is always clean and well maintained which is in no other colleges. It is always refreshing to visit the campus and spend some time.

I choose Electronics and Communication Engineering. The faculty in our college is best, well-deserving, and has a wonderful connection with students, they always support, encourage, motivate every student to give their best shot in everything. Our department has a well-maintained course curriculum. The library in our college is satisfying, we just don't need to buy the books and replace them anytime you want. Exams are conducted as per the schedule and the exam difficulty level is medium and sometimes high

I did my internship in Electronics Corporation of India Limited [ECIL] in VLSI for a month and it was a great experience. My project was Anti-Theft System for Two-Wheelers. Many students got their internships from Internshala. Our college supports us to learn from many online platforms like Edx, Coursera, NPTEL, etc., and faculty helps us in clarifying doubts and assignments.

Our placement cell act as communication between students and companies to bridge the existing gap and ensures benefits in terms of students being able to find the best proposition for themselves. From 4-1 semester onwards campus placements get started. Students placed in companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, IBM, Capgemini through college. Package starts from 3.6 LPA to 4.5 LPA. Percentage for students to get placed in the company is 70% or 7.5 CGPA. I got placed in Infosys as a System Engineer for 3.6 LPA.

Fees in our college are afforable. The fee structure for complete course was same, i had to pay 25500 per year. There is scholarships opportunity except for general category students, as i am from general category i didn't get the scholarship from college.

We use to have technical and non-technical events every Saturday conducted by students. We have a well-furnished and clean classroom with projectors and a blackboard. Our college also conducts Hackathons, workshops to improve our knowledge and skills. We have a Robotics lab, where we can gain practical knowledge and develop our project under guidance. We also have an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell [IEDC] to motivate students to think creatively and generate innovative ideas from all fields of engineering. It also gives funds for developing the project. We also have tournaments once a year for all different types of sports and interest students are encouraged. We have a digital library. We also have a gym for girls and boys.
