I took VITEEE, I was ranked in first category admission i.e under AIR 20,000, This college is ranked the No. 1 Private Engineering Institution in India by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India when I was in my second semester. Before I got admitted to VIT, VIT was known to be in the top 20 colleges in India for engineering.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is fully flexible. There is a system in VIT called FFCS. Fully Flexible Credit System which allows us to frame our own time table with the choice of subjects we want to study in any given semester. Some courses have a J-component(Embedded Project), in which we have to study some research papers relating to the course and the topic we have chosen as our project topic.
Internships Opportunities
Placement wise, many reputed companies come to VIT every year, some of them offer internships. I am recently in the third semester, so I do not have many details about the stipend, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
Some scholarships are available for BPL students and SC, ST students, and for students who are doing good in their respected branches.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors students and alumni who were once a part of any VIT team, Club or student Chapters remain in touch always and help juniors whenever required.
Exam Structure
Every semester, we have two internal assessments CAT1, CAT2, 3 digital assignments to be submitted online, one project relating to the course(having embedded project), end sem exams. There are no lab end sem exams for upcoming batches. University has changed its curriculum starting with the 2015 batch which reduced the syllabus and subjects by re-scaling the syllabus.
Faculty
Faculty standards are very high in VIT. Almost all the faculties are PhDs from reputed IITs or from Foreign universities. I found many of my faculties devoted to their work. But there are some 1-2 faculty out of 20 who are not serious about teaching.
