Remarks
The admission process was merit based. There was an exam, consisting of MCQ questions. Based on the score, a merit list was then prepared and candidates were called in until the seats for the program was filled. The minimum mark that should be scored in class 12 for BA Political Science was 65 percent (any stream). There were no age restrictions as such. The counseling day was a long day, and one must go in the morning and wait for their turn.
Course Curriculum Overview
I always wanted to study political science. Contrary to what people generally think, political science is not only good for UPSC or other government administrative jobs but is also required for developing skills for both the for-profit sector and the non-profit one. There were 11 professors, very well equipped from well-known institutions like SOAS, Oxford, Jadavpur University, JNU etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees were extremely affordable. As it is a state-funded institution, therefore everything was subsidized. When it came to the cleanliness and the aminities everything was top-notch. There were digital notice boards all around, and the entire campus was filled with greenery. However, unlike many foreign universities, there was no student job available on the campus.
Campus Life
Books and journals were plenty but for that one had to visit the library as most of the resources were not digitized. There was wifi in the campus and if one logged in through it then they had access to the journals which were basically paid. Some books, however, were not available in the library and a request needed to be made to the librarian for such books so that the library can buy them.
