Remarks
I applied to various universities but because of the low JEE percentile couldn't get admission to them. The admission process in Jamia Hamdard was quite easy. After attending a counseling session admission was given based on JEE Main marks and 12th Boards percentage. The minimum JEE percentile required was 65 and the minimum boards percentage required was 75%.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Computer Science engineering because of my interest in coding. The faculty mostly have a doctorate and are quite skilled in their respective areas. I've had no problem with any of the faculty members in the two years I've been here. Although the timing of the term exams has been very uncertain during this period of online teaching. The difficulty level of the exam papers is medium.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements after the third year. Companies like TCS and Wipro visit and quite a lot of offers are made. The average stipend goes to 3-4 lakhs per annum but some students can get up to 6-7 lakhs per annum as well. I plan to get a job after getting the degree and do a master's as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are a bit much considering the online scenario as we are not using any facility provided by the university except online classes. There are several scholarship opportunities that are offered. Companies like TCS come for in-campus placements and the average salary for freshers is 3-4 lakhs per annum.
Campus Life
Although I've not been on campus much because of the lockdown there are several opportunities for extracurriculars. The library is quite vast and contains books on multiple topics. Each year Hamdard Fest is held during February where various kinds of competitions are done including sports. We have basketball, football, cricket, badminton, tennis and even carrom in the sports complex. There is also a gym for students. In our course, there are three societies for students: the Computer Society of India (Technical), IEEE (Technical), and EPOCH (Cultural and Literary Society).
