Electrical Engineering - 8 Semester Model Faculty Student Ratio is 1:60 Reason to choose Electrical Branch - Pertaining to the benefits of the choice we get agter opting for the core subjects Faculty is well qualified. Teaching methods needs a lot of improvement. Practical labs needs proper working instruments. Teaching should be more practical to get engineering subjects intresting and understable rather than normal pen and paper system. Terms exams are held in a timely manner along with Unit Tests. It was a semester system, so terms exams were conducted after every months.

After completing your 3 years, you have to apply for internships. Placements start by the end of the 6th semester. The packages vary from 2-12 LPA. You can sit in all the placement drives as the eligibility criteria of different firms.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees hiked after 3rd year. I did not have any scholarships. They do provide though for eligible students. I got campus placed at Artech. I did not have any scholarships or financial assistance. They have some international scholarships available with AISEC.

Campus Life

Groups and Clubs available: English enhancement program for improving English. There are seperate groups for all the extracurricular activities. We had a debate group- Capstone Poornima Energy Club- Electrical Department- conducts activities that are related to the department. Likewise, all the departments had their clubs.

Hostel Facilities

I think the best thing about this college was the hostel. We all live for food! In that case, Poornima has the best food available. Clean, hygiene maintained mess, 4 meals a day. Hostel rooms are big enough. You'll spend the most amazing time there. I didn't much like the washrooms though. Air Ducts available for cooling. You can opt for non- AC room as well. Perfect security.

Placement are decent in my point of view as college manage to provide campus placement to every eligible students as company ask for your Overrall grade point of the student and apply their standard as 6.5 ogpa or without any backlog and take exam of aptitude and it is based on company policy they take group discussion and then personal interview and if it is software company then coding rounds also. Students in7th semester are ready for placement. In current scenario 6 companies have visited the campus and around 40-45 offers has been given to students. Here each company come with only one package and different job roles some company came with 5.5 lpa and some with 5 lpa and some with 7 lpa so maximum till now from college is 7 lpa and average till now of placed students is 5.5 lpa. 60 percent of students get placed in past years stastics. My plan is to go for higher education ie mtech from good institution.

The average placement of this college is seven to eight lakhs and highest placement is twenty two lakhs. The best part is the placement in core companies.
