Remarks
I got admission to CIT through Anna University counseling. I actually got to know about this college through Dinamalar Vazhikaati program. Though this college is new, I found that it had a lot of opportunities to explore the world of Engineering. Admission is based on the cut-off mark(Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose CSE because I like to work with computers since school. The faculty members are very friendly with the students. We students are granted with OD for internships, projects, cultural activities, etc. only on the condition that we constantly keep our grades above 75%. We are given daily tests to learn important questions every day. Two assessments are kept and those marks are taken into consideration for Semester Internals.
Internships Opportunities
CIT provides a large number of project opportunities to work with. Students are allowed to do projects even from the first year. Students are also allowed to collaborate with the faculty members to work on projects. Students showcase their projects on great platforms such as SIH (Smart India Hackathon). CIT also provides opportunities for students who are willing to become entrepreneurs.
Placement Experience
CIT offers a large number of placement opportunities for students who graduate. Students are given technical training for placement from the first year onwards; aptitude training is given from third year onwards. Placements start from the end of the sixth semester. About more than 80% of the students are placed every year. Some of the MNCs that come for placement are IBM, TCS, Pega, Accenture and Infosys.
Fees and Financial Aid
CIT offers scholarships to students based on their cut-off. I got a half scholarship in 2019 as I got more than 170 as a cut-off. This scholarship criterion might vary every year. Due to this half scholarship, I currently pay 75k of which 30k is for Bus fees and 30k is for Training and Development fees.
Campus Life
Yearly CIT conducts Technical Symposiums for each department and Annual Cultural Fest-Takshashila. CIT conducts Bridge courses for school students who are about to enter CIT to bridge the gap between school life and college life. Yearly, various programs are conducted, in which most of them involve skilled professionals from various sectors. Career Compass is one such program conducted, in which Industrial experts address about various aspects in their corresponding field and guide students to engage themselves in those fields. Language clubs(Japanese, German, French) also conduct programs to boost up their knowledge in those languages.
Other Applied Colleges
