Remarks
The admission process is very taxing and time consuming, they initially called at main campus a couple of times then they asked to go to the college of preference to submit the remaining fees. I did not have any quota, as for any college. They have management quota wherein, in most colleges students from this quota are given more marks as they are considered money fetching machines, this in my opinion is very wrong as others study through out the year but still they aren't granted marks. You need to have 60% in !2th grade, also now IPU is taking admissions on the basis of CLAT Exam only, so if you target NLUs and study your hardest then even if do not make for the Top 5 NLUs, you'll be easily be able to grab a seat in Main Campus, which is really good. Also there is a specific quota for students who have done their schooling from Delhi, so they are give prefernce on priority basis. There is a counselling day when they make you visit the campus and try to convince you to take admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course to be able to crack Judiciary and UPSC, I was told in this college that we provide free judiciary coaching from 4th year onwards but till now I haven't received any! There is one faculty member for almost 60 students in every class, the attention span of the teacher is quite naturally diverted because of such a huge strength. Faculty members are Phd holders or are pursuing one or are LLM holders. Overall faculty is quite versed with the syllabus prescribed and follows a very detailed analytical approach, they prepare notes, send powerpoints all in all the faculty puts in the best for the student. The teaching method quite naturally involves discussions, debates and followed by a detailed analysis explained by the faculty. For every sem, you have internals and obviously, they are followed by external, you need to study round the year to score decent grades, it is very important being in Law School to develop a habit of reading, and the faculty provides enough resources.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is extremely absurd and that is one reason I cannot stand by this college. They increase the fees at any point they feel like, and the students are required to pay the hiked fees for all the years they have studied. For ex. they increased 8,000 per annum when I was in 3rd year, so we had to pay the increased fees for both 1st and 2nd years as well. Even during the pandemic, they took full fees, even though there was no electricity, library facility, and other facilities used by students. Also if someone's parents slightly slacken in paying the fees they do not allow the student to give internals at all. There is not a placement for Law school students. No scholarships at the college level only under government schemes.
Campus Life
There is just one annual grand-scale function that too on the main campus. On a personal front,, I do not think the college has a lot of exposure in various fields. There are a sufficient amount of books. They have ACs, whiteboards,, and projectors in classes. The classes are neat. There are no on-campus sports and extracurricular but they go to the main campus for events.
