Remarks
I went through the combined admission procedure for all new IIMs- Ranchi, Raipur, Udaipur, Kashipur, Trichy, and Rohtak. There was a GD and PI round which concentrated more on the Current Affairs and General Aptitude. The process was great and conducted smoothly.
Course Curriculum Overview
First-year had the same course for everyone with a mix of courses related to Finance, Sales and Marketing, Operations, HR. in the Second Year, students had an opportunity to choose subjects as per their interest. The faculty was good, with study pedagogy being a mix of Case Studies, Presentions, and Classroom discussion.
Placement Experience
College provides Campus placements and Summer Internship opportuities with 80 + companies visiting the campus, for recruitment. Companies provide a variety of job opportunities in field of Finance, Sales an Marketing, Operations, General Maanagement, HR.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for Academic Session 2014 - 2016 was about Rs 12 lakhs, this was inclusive of academic fees and hostel fees. Institute provides Financial Assistance to students who are looking for the same.
Campus Life
IIM Ranchi has 2 annual fests, Agon - Technical Fest and Rush - the Sports and Cultural Fest. The campus has a good number of student-run bodies, and clubs that provide a plethora of opportunities to the students to showcase their skills and provide all-around development.
Hostel Facilities
The campus has great spacious and single rooms for everyone. Hostel food is decent enough with a fixed meal plan for each day of the week. Hostels are located in Khelgaon on the outskirts of Ranchi city.
Interview Experience
The Selection round consisted of a GD and PI. The topic for Group Discussion was based upon Current Affairs. The personal Interview round had 2-panel members - major discussion in the interview was about my resume and some basic current affairs related to my interests.
