Remarks
I applied for VIT, Amrita, and PSG, I secured a seat but the fee was high in both so I selected Amrita. I got Amrita through Management. Even for management, we had to write the AEEE exam. I got a 15k rank in it but the last date for management was before the Allotment through rank so I got into management. The management process in amrita is not that great, we had to pay 10k even before admission processes(AEEE Exam) starts and it will the person who was heading management was rude and doesn't provide all the information in a single call. However, they sent a mail and as I was eligible I paid the fee i.e. 4 lakh rupees for a year, and was allowed. My fee is 4 Lakh for a year for all 4 years which was all provided in a mail
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Mechanical engineering because I was fond of Automobiles from my Childhood and since I wanted to pursue more on it. The Real faculty: student ratio is 1:20 which is less than the quote but I think it is adequate. Most of the faculties have M.Tech degrees and a few of them had Ph.D., Teaching method various for every faculty according to their subject but the overall teaching method is good. Classes are taken from PPTs prepared by the faculty. All my classes were through Microsoft Teams due to the Pandemic so far it is just good. For All subjects, We have Quizzes every week and 2 Periodical exams with a gap of 2 months and at the end, we have a Semester exam and VIVA covering all the portions, for few subjects we have Lab Evaluation and Tutorials. Passing is easy but one should be consistent as all the scores will be taken into account for overall CGPA. the pattern is 50% from internals, 25% from End Sem, and 25% from viva
Internships Opportunities
For the first-years internships were given in autocad and I did not attend it as it was pretty much very very basic. Expecting better internship in the upcoming years. But we had done many projects for our accadeics like article writting, Journals, etc. In computer programming we had created an app like swiggy and it was very good learning
Placement Experience
From my process of gaining information from my seniors, from 6th semester we are eligible for placements. Placement training is started after the third year. Campus placement was held in online for last year. In mechanical there are few core companies visiting our college and the rest are IT companies. Most students are placed in IT . placement percentage is about 95%. The average package is 3 lakhsper annum and the highest is 12 lakhs per annum for mechanical students. I am planning for higher studies and amrita has several international universities in connection and we can apply and get those universities for less fee if we have a good CGPA
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no fee hike for the management quota and the fee is 4 lakhs for all 4 years. Scholarship is provided according to rank. there are four slots ,For Slot 1 Fee is 1,50,000 per year and Slot 2 is 2,00,000 , Slot 3 is 2,50,000 and Slot 4 is 3,00,000 for which scholarship is calcelled if we di not maintain our CGPA . No more financial assistance is provided by the college
Campus Life
The annual Tech fest in Amrita is ANOKA which was canceled due to pandemic and most of the activities were calcelled due to pandemic but clubs are happening there are two kinds of clubs, one is related to the department and the other is common which compromises the arts and literatures related clubs. Books and jornals are accessed through a VPN provided by the college. and the collection is huge and very useful. Since I joined in 2020 all my classes were through teams and camera is not turned during classes. Sports and extra curriculars are encouraged in our college but due to pandemic we have no access to it. There are discord servers that are run by students where we can get help on anything and also have fun
