Remarks
I didn't really apply to many colleges and i couldn't find one with a good lab and faculty for B Tech in Biotechnology as a bio student. There were more college options for a math student in comparison to a big one. The admission criteria was simple and for both merit and entrance-based admission they asked for a minimum of 60% in the qualifying examination. The admission process was pretty convenient. I opted for admission based on 10+2 marks for JIIT Noida sector 62 as I had biology in class 12th and was not eligible for any other way. After filling the form and registration I was provided with a registration number and was informed via mail when i got accepted.
Course Curriculum Overview
After Covid- 19 the whole Biotechnology sector faced major growth around the world and I saw it as an amazing opportunity to contribute to the industry and be a part of it. The class of biotechnology is divided into 3 parts each with 30 students. I am yet to meet the faculty and experience their teaching but I have heard all good things from the seniors.
Internships Opportunities
What I have heard is that the internship opportunities are really good with JIIT being very well known as an engineering college. The students are provided with many opportunities in the span of 4 years to actually build their experience up and contribute to major projects and tasks.
Placement Experience
JIIT Noida is ranked 96th by the NIRF under the Engineering Category. With a placement percentage of 96% in 2020, it has some of the top recruiters participating in the placement drive like- Adobe, DE Shaw, Amazon, Morgan Stanley, Wipro, Samsung, Rohde and Schwarz etc. Over 4 students bagged the highest CTC worth INR. 43.17 LPA in the 2020 placements. After getting the degree I plan to pursue masters from abroad.
Fees and Financial Aid
For B.tech with the eligibility of 10+2 + JEE Mains marks for first year is 2.37 Lakhs. A student is eligible for scholarship if the combined income of parents/ guardians is less than or equal to Rs. 1.5 Lakhs per annum and the student has a minimum CGPA of 7.0 on 10 point scale.
Campus Life
Due to covid I haven't seen the college yet so I am not eligible to answer this question but the only information I have is by the seniors and its all positive. The college does have a library with a huge collection so the students can easily access any necessary resource.
