Entrance Preview

I had to undertake an entrance exam devised by the college which included an interview. I wasn't informed on how much I had scorn. But my name had been displayed on the first list. Usually exemplary students gets the opportunity to have their names displayed in the first list.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I personally feel the curriculum follows a holistic approach on the development of the student. The subjects and the portions are outdated and the very assessing method or grading is only based on written exams. Practical experience is lacking and the space for creative improvement is not anywhere at reach. The students however are given permission by the college to explore their knowledge outside the book but thatThe process started off by buying an admission form for a sum of Rupees 200, and submitting it with a copy of my 10th and 12th certificates, my community certificate, and other requisites. Being a Catholic I had to submit my baptism certificate. Later I had to submit my recommendation. And as my recommendation added value to my application, with a score of 88% in my 12th , my name was displayed in the first list. Soon, I had wouldn't have any effect on the grading.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides internship. The duration is usually a minimum of 28 days. The stipend is very rarely given. Very few companies like Goldman Sachs come in on an campus internship. The students are obligated to find an internship program themselves. The experience was really good for me personally as my studies finally included some practical application.

Placement Experience

3

The placement is carried out by the placement cell of the college, which is a separate body entitled to take care of the placement activities. Placement usually takes place from Jan -March during the last year of the college. Companies such as wipro, TCS, RBS, come for campus placements. The pay usually varies from 10k- 30k a month.

College Events

4

The college usually has two events. The intra college and the inter college cultural event. The intra college cultural event is called ovations and the inter college cultural event is a dance event called Ignite. The ovations is the biggest intra college cultural event in India, with over a hundred celebrity attending it every year. Both the cultural event is organised by the students Union of the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure for the morning shift is very feasible as the govt subsidised 70% of the course fee. For example , the fee for a b.con is usually 30,000 on an avg, and the morning shift students are usually obliged to pay 4-8 k. The fee for the evening shift students are collected with government fee exemption ,except for the ones under any scholarship programs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers scholarship for the exemplary students and the economically backward. Certain scholarships are also uniquely devised for poor Catholic students.

Campus Life

4

The college is basically a boys college. And during the recent few days some departments at the UG level and most of the PG level courses and diplomas are offered to both boys and girls. There always exist a preference for male students as the college has been a boys college since it's inception. The college shares a unique unity despite students from various diverse races, religions, economic standards.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network consists of successful celebrities, politicians, music directors, directors, film stars, Charted accountants, entrepreneurs, etc. They've been a lot helpful both directly and indirectly over the years. Their influence as an alumni has increased the value of goodwill on our college over the years.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is usually based on writing. Very few subjects requires practical examination for grading. The exam process is divided into two ; the internal examination and the external examination. The internal examination consists of two exams and one assignment which is called (second component). The internal exams are usually hectic as there ain't no gap in between.

Admission

The process started off by buying an admission form for a sum of Rupees 200, and submitting it with a copy of my 10th and 12th certificates, my community certificate, and other requisites. Being a Catholic I had to submit my baptism certificate. Later I had to submit my recommendation. And as my recommendation added value to my application, with a score of 88% in my 12th , my name was displayed in the first list.

Faculty

2.5

The faculties are diverse in the college. Some share in great experience and knowledge. Some move out of the book to teach a subject. Some preach and some teach. And many new lecturer's greatly suffer from communication problems. The biggest disappointment is their inability to read and correct papers apart or away from the answer key generated to them by the college.

Dear Akshay , Thank you for taking out time to address your thoughts . We shall look into the concerns raised towards the faculties and their abilities to read and correct the answer sheets, its a big and a serious concern and we shall have amendments made if necessary. Will also look into the communication problems. Our institute is always open to feedback and improvements for the betterment of our students. We wish you all the best for your future.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspect will be accounting that made me choose this couse. The curriculum made me to prepare for future accounting field works and knowledge around the field. The improvements that I suggest may is to add more relevent real life job experience in subject books itself. As per me who is one of a topper student in my college, The difficulty is moderate to me and timing of exams are more enough to fill all the questions.

Placement Experience:

In MCC there is placement but it's not 100% placement, only 10 to 20 from a class of 60 gets placed, so when it comes to placement it's upto to you and your skills. Normaly the placement enrollment starts at beginning of your 5th semester or end of your fourth semester, you can opt for placement or higher study. The highest package was from Standard Chartered & Deloitte it was 6 Lakhs CTC. Accenture, TCS and some well known companies will participate in placement drive. The average package will be Rs.3.5 Lakhs CTS. I'm planning to go for higher studies while doing a part time job after getting degree.
