Remarks
I took the CAT Exam. This exam is taken for all IIMs. I scored a decent percentile in it. Afterward, the process involved a written aptitude test and an interview. For a written aptitude test, an essay is given, for which you have to write 300 words in 30 minutes. Regarding the interview, it will be a general interview for 20-30 minutes. In the IIM hierarchy, I had IIM Indore as the topmost call. I chose IIM Indore because it is one of the oldest IIMs.
Course Curriculum Overview
Due to the Covid crisis, we started our education online. Regarding the course structure, one year in IIM has three terms; trimester system. After the first year, we spent 8 weeks in a summer internship and then we come to the final year. Regarding the number of exams, in the first term, we had 11-12 subjects. In the second term, we had 13 subjects. So, academically it is very heavy. The methodology of teaching is case-based. The cases are from reputed organizations, mostly Harvard Business School. Professors are highly educated and have degrees from some of the best institutes around the world. The online learning was on the Zoom platform. The exams took place on the Mercer Mettl Platform. Some professors took objective exams. Even subjective exams were also available.
Internships Opportunities
This time the summer internships are hit badly.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario is decent here. The top companies are Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. The senior batch holds domain-wise prep talks. We have mock interviews as well. There is a lot of focus on preparing the resume properly.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Regarding the scholarship, I don't have much idea. Mostly two or three toppers get those scholarships or somebody on a need basis. Regarding the fee structure, 16 lakh is the tuition fee. The hostel and mess fee and other expenses combine to 19 lakh for 2 years. For the loan facilities, our details were forwarded to the banks. Those banks then contacted us for the loan process and if somebody has to buy a laptop or any other device those types of concessions were also made available. The college sent our contact details to the bank. I haven't availed any educational loan
Campus Life
For the first two terms, we weren't much available because the first two terms are very hectic. Most of the fests were hit because of covid. I applied for some clubs and committees but couldn't get into most of them. The online interaction was mostly with our batch mates on WhatsApp groups and sometimes on Zoom calls. We have clubs like consulting clubs, finance clubs, and investment clubs, and HR Clubs. We have IT Analytics. Based on our interests, clubs and committees are there. We have to fight it out because the batch size is huge and you have to present yourself exceptionally. Reading material is sent to us. It is shared in google drive. All the time tables and present-absent records and even the reading periods are sent to us. From the second term onwards, they started to send us to our home address through courier.
Admission
There was no GD in the process. This year the VAT was crack because of the Covid issue. I gave VAT in Delhi. It is generally on the current issues. It was something related to the economy. My interview experience was okay enough. As the interview started, they asked to tell us something about yourself, they asked me to name all the states in one order like starting from North, then to the west, south, and then to the east. They asked me to give an extempore on the topic of Brain Drain. They gave me 30-45 seconds to think about it and 1.5 minutes to talk about it. Mostly, it was memory or fact-based. They would give you a notepad to jot the points.
