Tanvi Rustagi's Review On ICFAI Business School - [IBS], Gurgaon

I took IBSAT examination for this particular college. I don't remember the exact score but i Chose this course because the placements were good and also, the fee structure wasn't high. I wanted to take an education loan which i could easily repay. Also, I belonged to Delhi NCR, hence, it was the best option at that time.

The Course structure is good but I think the institute should provide the freshers more guidance on which electives to take up based on their aspirations/interests. The reference materials provided by the faculty is good but the books provided by the college aren't that amazing. However, the case studies are wonderful.

The college provides internship in the college itself in the placement department or in the counselling department however, their is no stipend. But interns could earn a cut every time they bring a new company or a new student, I believe.

Placements are good for Marketing and Finance. Some of the good companies would come for hiring like Wipro, TCS, Smart Cube and others. However, the placements depend on market sentiment as well. The highest package, I believe, would be around 7 Lpa except for few marketing positions wherein the packages are more considering the higher variable component.

There would an annual fest in the college spanning for about a month and ending with a two day gala fest. Lots of fun, games, music and events. Apart from this we have freshers party, farewell party and lot of other events during the course of 2 years program.

Fee structure seems to be nominal which includes 4 semesters plus books. For a student to take up an education loan, it would be easy to repay if they end up with a good placement. Also, Students winning the best Internship award also, wins a good cash prize. The college is air-conditioned. Study material is fairly good.

Campus life in the college is pretty amazing and lots of extracurricular stuff to be engaged in. A full month fest with lots of competitions like quiz, treasure hunts, music, dance, sports, and many more. The college invites few dignitaries for pep talks, placement dialogues, bands, singers. So it's pretty fun filled.

Exam structure is slightly hectic with regular internal examinations, assignments, presentations and semester exams. But if the student is very hard working that would actually seem like a cake walk. The final exams would last only a week comprising some times two exams a day. Each exam would have 30 MCQ to be taken in first 30 minutes, and later on a 70 marks subjective exam.

I took the examination and got through it. I was invited for the counselling process in Hyderabad (which I gave amiss) but then I was invited to Gurgaon campus which was easy to go to. There were two rounds as part of the counselling, one being a GD round and the other being a personal interview with the faculty.

Few of the faculties are top notch and are the go to person for the students while few are not so good. I believe we need better faculties for trade like operations. Some of the faculties would really make you work hard and would explain to you the concepts wonderfully.
