Well balanced college - [TIH], Hooghly

I gave WBJEE and JEE but my rank was so poor, whichever college I applied to, I got rejected although I applied for only 1 college other than techno India Hooghly, It was AOT(ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY). I got my seat booked at Techno India Hooghly under a few criteria, Students of any background and any age group can apply in this BCA course but they should have a minimum of 50% above in total aggregate and either math's or computer science in 12th class and after our admission process was complete we were told to give a CET exam, whose rank was necessary by the University MAKAUT, as I am of general category so there was no quota for me. For admission, I called the college authorities and asked them for details and fees structure of the course, after a few conversations they told me to visit the campus if I am interested to take admission and after that, as I reached the campus a faculty member from admission cell helped me through the admission process, everything was done smoothly.

I chose this course because I am always interested in a computer science background, as I couldn't get placed in engineering college, so I opt for BCA in TECHNO INDIA HOOGHLY, and I don't regret my decision. Faculty members are very knowledgeable and friendly to students, they help students with every problem and maintain a good teaching environment all around, ratio of teacher to student is 1:40. Not All the faculty are of Ph.D. qualified few are there with an only master's degree (few who help in lab or work as lab assistants)but their teaching method is very practical and not bookish, they help us to deal with problems in an easier and tactical way. Exams are taken monthly and semester wise, that are well-organized exam which helps us to review our knowledge and earn merit as well, exam are easy to pass if you hear attentively in class because lectures are a rich source of questions in all these types of exams.

The internship offers that our batch got were from, EKART hub logistics Internship a 45 days Internship with 15000 stipends, other Internship students bagged was from Internshala and many other internship websites. E-KART Internship was logistics work student has to work there as a logistics worker or data entry work of all the logistics thing being unloaded and loaded. From my batch around 20 students successfully completed the internship and I have little to no knowledge about other Internship but I know that all other Internship was also about technology and data entry jobs.

From 5th semester students are eligible for campus placements, our college offers us many opportunities in placement ground. TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, CAPGEMINI, TECH MAHINDRA, DELOITTE, ETC, and for every eligible candidate they offer some good packages like for junior software developer (3-4lacs per annum), software tester (1.5-2lacs per annum), management offer, etc. The highest package bagged by anyone after completing BCA was 5 lacs per annum offered by TCS and the average package offered is 1.5 lacs per annum. Around 50-60% of students get placed last year or you can say this year. My plan is will be opting for a master's degree and going for all-round development of my skills and knowledge before applying for any multi-national company.

When I got myself admitted, the admission fees + the 1st-semester fees was 30000, then for the rest of the semester we had to pay 24500 + 1200 exam fees, after that for 2020-2021 these semester fees increased by 5000 making it 30000 per semester +1200 exam fees, so every year I guess it increases by 5000 or less may be. Recently our honorable chief minister announced student welfare credit card which helps students to pay college fees by taking a loan with a low-interest rate, keeping aside this scheme there are many scholarships also as well like Vivekananda scholarship and many more, also for girls only there is "kanyashree" which they get once a year and it's 25000, and yes there is some financial assistance in college which not known to me so clearly but yes it's there. It's a pool campusing which takes place at TECHNO INDIA salt lake main college, Students get jobs to offer from TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, CAPGEMINI, etc, roles offer to them are a software tester, junior developer, no stipend.

Before this pandemic, an annual fest that was conducted was, College freshers and an annual function then there used to be a tech-fest named spark quest which started from the year 2018 but due to pandemic it was postponed then it took place in last month this year August. Usually before pandemic:- Annual fest occurs between(may-June), College freshers and reunion occur between(September-October), and spark quest occurs during November-December. Books & journals are available in abundance, facility of sit and read is also there. Classrooms are well facilitated with WIFI and we'll ventilate. Sports that are mainly played:- cricket and football (outdoor), indoor games that are played:- badminton, carrom, pool. Dancing and singing clubs are also there. We have 2 social groups is there, the verbena(TIH) committee for every function arrangement and TIH CodeChef GROUP for coding and other technical events.
