Remarks

The college management is corrupt and that shows with the dearth of good teachers and faculty. The facilities though are sometimes lacking but most of the time it's not the case.

Entrance Preview

I took the GGSIPU CET and ranked 13271 in 2014. Picked GTBIT over others because of better facilities, proximity to home and better connectivity. I picked EEE over IT and ECE because of more potential research and graduate work. Jobs aren't as easy to get as in the CS or IT sector.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is a bit too diverse in my opinion and it is hard to grasp all the concepts perfectly in the given time frame. Of course that is helpful as it familiarises you with the concepts you need to know and can focus on. In other words, you get what you put in.

Internships Opportunities

No. The placement and internship cell is lacking and not many companies hire interns. There are no industrial visits or anything of that sort. The college did organise an in-house training but after a week it dwindled to nothing. The college does however provide an opportunity to work within startups founded by fellow college mates. The IEEE society might also be beneficial for meeting professors or joining trainings at other colleges.

Placement Experience

1.5

The placement scenario is frankly bad for EEE and ECE in this college. A few people do get selected in IT based jobs but the hiring companies may also discriminate on the branch and not allow EEE or ECE students to sit for the interview. Sometimes companies like samsung R&D do come but then the students aren't qualified enough.

College Events

5

Technical: The annual fest GATES and IEEE Day Many participants from other colleges come and overall it's always a positive learning experience or a chance to make your pockets a few thousand rupees heavier. Cultural: all major hindu and sikh festivals: diwali, gurpurbs. The guest list isn't spectacular but the amazing friendly crowd makes the experience enjoyable.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is affordable by upper middle class people. Eighty six thousand rupees an year to be precise. The college is a bit lax on the date for fee payment so don't need to worry about that. In my opinion the facilities offered make the fee justifiable.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not know of any scholarships in particular but yes there are facilities for gifted students and those from economically backward families.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratios: pretty skewed in ECE/ EEE. A 1:10 Girl to boy ratio. Workshops: many workshops and opportunities to learn through IEEE, TSG and android techies societies. Cultural societies: Divine circle that organises Sikh festivities and "paths"Student diversity: atleast half the students are from the sikh community. Most people are accepting of others and friendly. I don't feel like you ever have had a fight over differing view points. When friends, some sikhs might not mind criticism of their religion. Obviously. Sardar jokes aren't tolerated. Being a DSGMC institute, sikh men are expected to wear a turban.

Hostel Facilities

2

There are no on campus hostels but being in the heart of rajouri garden there are many PGs at a stones throw. PGs are available right next to the college campus, opposite to it, near hari nagar or even near J block market. The average rental is 3-4 Thousand per person. Many flats are also available in this area.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are helpful with regards to coursework. Most people are happy to help and guide you. Again IEEE and TSG societies do help you learn a lot of the practical world that the course won't touch upon. I faced no ragging at all. Some of my friends did but it was more fun than demeaning.

Exam Structure

The typical semester looks like thisAugust - mid September: regular classes and labsSeptember week 3 - first sessionalsSeptember week 3- october week 2 - regular classes October week 3- december end-Second sessionals, internal practicals, external practicals, external theory all with maximum of one week between The exam structure for newer batches might be different as they only have one mid term and not two sessionals.

Faculty

1

Most of the faculty in the EEE branch seems unqualified. The teachers are assigned courses that aren't their speciality. This hurts their ability to teach. While some teachers are unable to explain themselves well, but understand the subject, others are just incompetent. I would recommend you to get used to self study if you want to score well in this college.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
