Sumit Jadiya's Review On Bhilai Institute Of Technology - [BIT], Durg

In CGPET-2012, I got 1021 rank. This is the best college in Chattisgarh hence i opt computer science in this college. In admission process i was satisfying their requirement as the closing rank for CS branch was around 1600.

The students of my college including me were not satisfied with the course structure of the college. The course structure was basically focussed on the very basic things but the students wanted something innovative for themselves. In their course curriculum, they never focussed on research and innovations.

I don't think so, as per my knowledge bhilai institute of technology, durg doesn't provide any internship at any level.

The placement season during my final year was good. Even i got placed in the first company i applied. The biggest brand which were there during placement season were TCS, SAP, HP etc. The maximum package was 6 lpa provided by SAP. I don't know the exact amount of candidates but i guess around 300-400 students got jobs during my final year.

OJAS was the biggest technical, cultural event in our college. In last year of my engineering, i was the head of informals. Around 20k footfalls were counted within 2 days of events. This was a national level festival in which the students were participating from different regions around india.

The fee structure was not very expensive but still there was a benefit for SC/ ST/ OBC as their fees were quite low compared with general category. We paid extra for every single activity. but still looking at fee structure of other private engineering college our college was not very expensive.

Sorry but i don'y have any knowledge about any loan/scholarship facility offered by bhilai institute of technology, durg.

Campus life was fabulous. The students were very talented. The number of girls in computer science branch were greater than number of boys hence sex ratio was not any issue. extracurricular activity fest were organised by volunteers and events such as robotics were very important part of that. These events were best in such fests.

For the first 1.5 yrs i was in hostel provided by college. The mess in our hostel was not very good i.e. The quality of food was not very good After 1.5 yrs i shifted from hostel to a flat. Monthly rent for my room was just rs 1800/- without food facility.

The exams pattern was very old and requires a lot of changes. They have a limited set of questions which are asked again and again every year. The teachers mainly focus on those questions while teaching. Labs were fine but still sometimes teachers were not interested providing knowledge out of syllabus.

The college's senior professors were highly qualified. But junior professors or assistant professors were not very much skilled and updated as per current generation's requirement. Most of the professors had only limited knowledge related to the course (i.e. stuff which is important for exam). Due to them, even the focus of students was to clear exam rather than gaining skills.
