Remarks
I applied and got selected at Great Lakes, FORE and K J Somaiya besides TAPMI. I didn't attend any of these because TAPMI is a more established B-school with a much greater alumni network. The admission process included CAT, PI, an English Proficiency test and GD.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose PGDM General because I wanted to have an overall understanding of how different areas of businesses function. We have 1 faculty for around 60 students. Most of the faculty members are PhD holders. They have a hybrid teaching method where they combine instruction with demonstrations, visual aids, case discussions and student participation. Part A end-term exams are going to be held around 2 months after commencement. Meanwhile there have been continuous evaluation through moodle quizzes and case study solutioning.
Internships Opportunities
So far, Gartner, Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting and J P Morgan Chase have come for summer internships. Roles offered are sales intern, financial analyst and operations analyst. We're expecting other companies such as Accenture, Capegemini, Cargill, Cognizant, GEP, HCL and ICICI.
Placement Experience
All students get placed. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, JPMC, Airtel, HDFC, ICICI, Mahindra, Cognizant, EY, HP, IBM, Wipro, Accenture, Capegemini and HCL come for placements. My plans after getting a degree is to work in sales for a couple of years before transitioning to Marketing.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is around 17 lakh excluding hostel fees, eating expenses and electricity. There are multi-tiered scholarships across various levels of CAT percentiles as well as domain-specific scholarships.
Campus Life
We have a number of general as well as domain-specific events like Disha. We have a vast collection of journals, past student project reports and reference books in our library. We also have a Bloomberg terminal. We have around 30 committees and clubs including Toastmasters, Literary and Media Club (LIME), The Marketing Forum, Welfare Committe, YTBN (band), etc.
Interview Experience
GD topic was India-China relations:past, present and future. Interview questions were related to work experience and scenario-related. I prepared for these by staying up-to-date on news and crafting answers to potential interview questions.
