The GITAM university has a specific exam for entrance. It is the GAT It's an online entrance test with a minimum of 40% marks to qualify in it. The selection starts on the highest mark scored to about 60% of people who appeared. When I went for the counselling i had a option of almost all branches. I opted for civil as it was my almost desire.

Course structure of GITAM university is a effective and easy structure . The university focuses on research and has ample opportunity for the students in terms of libraries and laboratories and a GITAM student activity centre for the students to come up with ideas and work there way out. The first year curriculum is based on majorly maths, physics and chemistry with English and a few core subjects according to electives.

Yes, the college does provide internship. Mostly the faculty involved in doing on going projects encourage students to be a part.of it. The stipend is not very prominent in terms of internship. The over all experience is wonderful. The students get to learn the site working techniques and the conditions to cope with at site .

The GITAM university provides 99% placement opportunities ranging from google, Microsoft,Accenture , TCS , Amazon, Verizon, deloite,musigma etc. For civil companies like L&T come to recruit people. The package ranges from 25 lakhs to 4 lakhs per annum and varies from company to company. I got placed in Accenture with a package of 4 lakhs this year.

The departmental fests and the university fests are a must to experience in GITAM university. Fests like GUSAC carnival, gem fest, civil fest, mechanical fest etc, are a part of the university curriculum . They are big enough and are the best in city with a participation of nearly the whole of university and the neighbouring college. These are once in a lifetime experience.

The fee structure is a expensive structure. It is nearly 2 lakhs per annum. The facilities up to the mark and the university spread in nearly 200 acres is a best place to be. This all has made it easy and affordable with no extra fee or charges. The facilities are what the other colleges don't provide. The laboratories are so well maintained with latest equipments.

The GITAM alumni is a very active part of GITAM . They adopt villages parks and are in constant touch with the university. The seniors are very friendly and help you in a no. Of ways from exams to placements. The best example I can give us the standard they set in companies and how the companies come again and again to the university to recruit very year.

The GITAM university is a deemed university. It follows a 2 semester system for each year and a cgpa grading. The exams are generally in the month of November and April. The mid terms are once every two months and best of two mid terms is taken into consideration. The mid terms add on a total of 30 marks and a 10 marks for the attendance and other internal assignments.

The faculty working in GITAM has to be qualified with a M.tech degree and must be pursuing or completed PhD. This is the most important criteria for any person joining as faculty. The lecturers are very friendly down to earth and put there heart and soul into teaching. They encourage students to take up new developments based on the earlier. Civil engineering department has faculty with very high experience and from IITs.
