Remarks
1. I appeared for the CAT, XAT, and NMAT examinations to get admission into the MBA programs in India. I scored 88.2 percentile in CAT and hence received a call from T. A. Pai Management Institute, Manipal. 2. TAPMI accepts candidates with CAT scores above 85 percentile. The candidates applying must be in the age group of 20-30 years. 3. The first round of admission was Group Discussion with other candidates. The second round was a Behavioural Interview where the interviewers asked questions regarding my Past experience and why I wanted to pursue an MBA. 4. After the interview, candidates have to appear for an English Proficiency test. 5. Once the candidate has cleared all the rounds, they receive admission at the university.
Course Curriculum Overview
1. TAPMI provides an opportunity to the students to learn from highly experienced faculty, both with Industrial as well as teaching experience. 2. Each classroom has a faculty: student ratio of 1:60. 3. The faculty help students learn via several learning pedagogies such as case study, group discussion, presentation, simulation and lectures. 4. The term exams for the online mode of education have been divided into 2 parts. For instance, Term 1 (12 weeks): Part A exams (after the first six weeks) and Part B exams (after the next six weeks). 5. Students undergo continuous evaluation throughout the course through quizzes, assignments and group projects. The end term exams are usually having 50-60% weightage. This allows students to improve throughout the course and give better performance.
Internships Opportunities
1. Some of the major recruiters for summer internships at TAPMI include: Gartner, JP Morgan and Chase, Wipro, Deloitte, Amul, Citi, Brillio, KPMG, Bajaj Finserv, IBM, Lenskart and many more. 2. The students are expected to undertake a project with the company for a duration of 3 months. The project is based on the company's requirement and the candidate is expected to fill in the role offered and do a good job.
Placement Experience
1. From Trimester 5-6 students become eligible for campus placements. 2. There are several major MNC's visiting the campus. Some of the largest recruiters are Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Bajaj finserv, Salesforce, L&T limited, HP, Nestle, ITC, Capgemini, Brillio, Virtusa, JP morgan, and chase. 3. Average salary package offered is 12 LPA and the highest salary package offered by Bajaj Finserve of about 25 LPA. 4. 100% placements at TAPMI 5. I plan to work as a product/program Manager at an IT company.
Fees and Financial Aid
1. TAPMI being a private institute offers PGDM Course at 19 Lakhs for 2 years. The fees are slightly higher but the college provides a great learning experience. The faculty and the cohort of students joining the batch are highly talented and experienced. You have an opportunity to learn from the country's best. 2. TAPMI also provides scholarships to its meritorious students. There are several categories of scholarship, which include financial assistance, fee reduction for students with high CAT percentile scores. 3. Campus placements are excellent at TAPMI. The average salary package one can expect during their final placements is 11-12LPA. Highest being 25LPA.
Campus Life
1. There is two major annual fest at TAPMI - The Atharva and Brandscan. Atharva tests the business acumen of their candidates and there are cultural events held during the event. Brandscan is a flagship program at TAPMI. Country's largest Market research fair. Students learn a lot during these events. 2. TAPMI houses a large library consisting of 36500 books: 280 national & international periodicals, 5500 bound back volumes, 4000 student project reports, faculty/institute publications, and company annual reports. 3. Classroom has a seating capacity of 60-70 students. Classrooms are well lit and also have Air conditioning. The faculty uses the whiteboard and projector to teach students, and it's clearly visible to all students in the classroom. 4. There are several Sports competitions such as basketball, volleyball, throwball, and table tennis held on campus. Students participate in several competitions. 5. Clubs and committees include LIME, SEC, Samnidhi, Omega, Toastmasters.
Hostel Facilities
1. Each room has an attached bathroom and a 24-hour hot water facility supported by solar heating. All the hostels have lifts, backup power, Wifi internet connectivity. 2. Food variety ranges from north-south and east-west. Some food stalls are open till 3 AM in the morning for students who have to work late in the night. 3. The hostel fees are 3,10,000 rupees for 2 years, excluding food. Students pay around 4000 rupees per month for 3 meals. 4. Didn't rent any room or PG
Interview Experience
1. The first round during the interview was Group Discussion. GD topics were based on News and General Knowledge. 2. The second round was a Behavioural interview, where students are asked about their past experiences in detail, and the interviewers try to understand the personality of the students based on the decisions they made in the past. 3. I studied some major events happening around the world, and also practised questions related to my background, and my past experiences. 4. After the interview the last round tests your English proficiency. 5. Once a candidate clears all these rounds, they are extended the offer letter by the Institute.
