Remarks
The colleges I applied to were Shiksha yatak, JD Birla, and Xavier's. I opted for Xavier's because it was the best for BCom. The cut-off was 90% is 12 which I have successfully secured. The process of admission was simple though it took a lot of patience and talent to clear the round. First, the candidates are required to fill up the college application form. After being selected they have to give a written test. Students who pass there then further proceed to the interview round post which if selected they have to pay the fees within the prescribed time period.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course has a fast curriculum including subjects of marketing, HR, and finance. The faculty are all experienced professionals who know their subject well. there are a lot of professionals in the college to provide the students with the best lectures. Xaviers is very strict when it came to academics. all the students are paid attention to and the faculty makes sure that each student follows what going on in the class. We have CIAs twice in a semester and a final exam at the end of each semester.
Placement Experience
The students in semesters 5 and 6 are eligible to opt for the placement. There are a lot of bog companies who come to hire the students. Companies like EY, Wipro, etc visit. This is a valuable addition to the degree which provides a competitive edge in the market. The avg package is 5lakh/annum. A high percentage of students get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is quite reasonable. The college asks for the minimum fee possible. there is an extremely low hike in the fees per year. Many students who score well in their high school get a partial or full scholarship. Financial assitance is also good. Students can opt for education loans.
Campus Life
Xavier's have a very happening life. there are a lot of things happening at the same time. We have the Hindi literary society, the college fest called xavotsav, the management fest, and many such events. The campus is huge and students can play any sports like football, cricket, etc on the campus grounds. There are a lot of classrooms and a huge library which also have tablets apart from book for a better reference of the student. There are NSS activities that also help. our college participates in a lot of fests giving its students a chance to compete with the world.
Interview Experience
Yes, The selection process consists of a written ability test followed by GD and then PI. The topics usually revolve around current affairs, general knowledge, and a few academic questions. The pi round is rather tough. A candidate can be asked anything. mostly the topics are what they have studied yet. I used to watch the news and read the new paper to brush up and gain knowledge about what is going around. I also watched a a lot of videos on youtube which helped me alot.
